Navy For Moms

Well I just wanted to say, how time flies. It was a year yesterday that my son Larry with his recruiter to go to chicago for Boot Camp. I can still remember the feeling I had in my stomach when he left. I felt so empty inside. But now it's been a year, and he has come so far in the one year. It's been such a maturing experience, we talk alot more now then we ever did. It's actually been wonderful!

Anyone share there experience

Our son David started bootcamp about a year ago, as well. His PIR was May 2008 at Great Lakes. He also has progressed so well with the Navy. In the past year he completed training as a Hospital Corpsman and over the past six months studying to become an Optician Technician fitting and dispensing eyeglasses for sailors. He will be deployed in May to a Naval Air Facility in Japan for the remainder of his career in the Navy.

Yes...many changes in one year!

My son has been in the Navy 5 years now. The Navy experience as a whole, has been really positive. I mean, he has a great job. He met a great girl. I have a beautiful grandson. He lives in a place I love to visit, although I'd rather him be next door. I doubt as a civilian, he would be in the position he is financially, career or even the stage of his relationships.
I love the Navy.
