OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Phone calls in boot camp
I just missed a phone call from my son in boot camp! He left 3 messages. He said he had 20 minutes to make phone calls He went in on September 5th, so I didn't realize he was allowed to make phone calls after the first night of arrival. He sounded so disappointed on his phone messages. I feel terrible that I missed them, but want to know if anyone knows if he will be allowed more throughout boot camp?

I'm sorry you missed his calls.
Calls are totally up to the RDC. Don't expect a call, but have your phone available at all times (especially from 8 am to 8 pm Central Time M-Th and Sat and from 1 pm to 8 pm Central Time on Fridays and Sundays--calls at other times are possible, but generally indicate a problem or a need for information) and be pleasantly surprised when you get a call. I'm so sorry! I missed one of my sons calls as well. It's heartbreaking! I work in a situation where I'm not suppose to have my phone so I missed it by 5 minutes. I was crying inside. Yesterday I got the "I'm a Sailor" call and same situation, but thankfully he called back a few minutes later and I answered it. I hope he's able to call you again soon. Hang in there!

Thank you, glad to know I am not the only mom who missed a call. I am very glad you were able to get the "I'm a Sailor" call. I didn't realize that we would get that type of call either, until I joined this group and read about it! Now I'll be prepared :)

Ladies so sorry you have all missed calls, keep your cell phone close at all times, and you also can have your calls from home phone transferred to your cell phone so you never miss a call. hope this helps

I missed my sons call today too. I had my cell phone but for some reason the call never came through. He tried my husbands cell phone but he didn't have his phone with him. My son sounded so disappointed and upset. He said he may get another call in 2 or 3 weeks. Hopefully my phone will work and not decide to drop the call. I am so upset over missing his call. I can't wait to see him on Graduation day Nov 3.
