I just got the form letter in the mail and my daughter's graduation is to be November 25. I was wondering if anyone else had someone graduating on this day?

Hi, Niki'smomKaren! My daughter's graduation is November 25th too. We had a surprise call from her about an hour ago. It was sooo good to hear her voice.

Hi Jennifer. I was suprised that it would be November 25th. I was expecting sometime in December. I am so glad though that it is earlier. The only bad thing is airline tickets are more expensive at this time. Oh well, it is worth it.
Are you serious??She really got to call you? That is great. When did she get there?

I was thinking early December also. We are probably going to drive up, it will be less expensive and we wont have to rent a car. I hear they should have 4 days of liberty due to the holiday, which is a definate plus. She got to bc on 9/28 and ended up in hold for the first week. She sounded tired and said that they went through processing this week, got their shots and the work has begun. The call was way too short and we did not get much time to talk, but it was still nice to hear from her.

Hello Nikis mom, can you tell me when your daughter started or left for bootcamp? I have not heard a thing and if it is going to be the 25th of November we all need to start making plans as that is a very hectic ,busy time of year for travel. My son left on October 7th and so far all I got was a box no additional info.

Hi Ladies, Congrats to all your Rct Moms with soon to be United States Sailors or as we like to say, you got yourself a HERO! PIR is the best thing ever, I tell people all the time I am not sure when I was PROUDER, the day I brought him into this world or the day I watched my baby (even though he is my oldest) The hanger doors open, and in they March division by division all dressed to a T standing tall & PROUD! Your skips a beat, your eyes well up and you just start yelling like your at a football game. All you can think about is hugging your loved one. Bring lots of tissues, camera and ID. 3 necessities. Be comfortable when you go, it is early and you make have to walk alot but not as bad as people say! I hope you all get to keep your Sailors at the hotel for the entire w/e. If so, make sure you pack them sweat pants, t shirt & sweatshirt to lounge in in the hotel. Outside the room they must be in full uniform. Chk out the shirts we wore to our Meet & Greet, my icon is the shirt but chk out my pics on my page. Don't miss your meet & greet if you can help it, great time. You meet all the wonderful people that you relyed on during BC. Have fun everyone!

YES! My husband is graduating 11/25 too. He is Ship 07 DIV 007. I got a surprise callt his morning too. It was unbelievable. It was about 10 am and I almost cried on the phone. I held it in and he just quick told me that he loved me, he'd have 4 days instead of 2 of liberty and all that. He left for bc 10/1 so I was positive it would be the beginning of december (his bday is 12/6!) and I was so so SO happy to find out it would be november 25. Feel free to add me or message me, I'd love to talk with you! =]

I actually just created a group for PIR 11/25/09 because I couldn't find any when I searched. There are already a few memebers, so please feel free to join. :)

It seems as though a lot of people are surprised about graduation on 11/25/2009. Did anyone ship around the 7th of October with that date? I still have not heard anything. Very anxious to hear if that will be the date for my son. Please respond

Good Morning Nicole....Niki left out on October 5...that afternoon. We received "the box" on that Thursday of the same week. We then received the form letter on Saturday. She is Ship 07 Division 012. PIR date was on the form letter. I had sent two letters from the address the recruiter gave me (I called him Friday...early) but on the form letter it shows that you have to put their last name first, then first name and middle initial. Also on my first letters I did not put Recruit Training Command and you are to put this also according to form letter. Hope she gets those first letters. Keep in touch. We are all in this together.

Hello Karen, Can you believe I still have not heard anything?!! I called the recruiter and he said he has not been assigned yet,but has started boot camp. I am so frustrated. I just want an address so I can send letters. Recruiter said not to send yet till I have his ship and division. I hope he finds out tomorrow,I really need some sort of information. I did receive the box on monday. No info in it! Thank you for the info about the letters though. I will be sure to do that.Keep in touch,Nicole
