I'm new to this site and could really use some support. My daughter called yesterday and said she is not able to graduate because she was 40 seconds short on her running test. She gets one more try tomorrow and that is her last chance before graduation. Has anybody else gone through this? My heart is breaking for her and i am SO nervous about tomorrow

There is info for you in Battle Stations-21 (BST). Join fit program.

Shanny's Mom,

2,200 Recruits are placed in FIT (Fitness Improvement Training) each year because they have trouble meeting their fitness requirements. You can read about it by clicking HERE. The important thing to remember is that the Navy wants your daughter to succeed. 93% of the Recruits in FIT go on to join the fleet. Good luck!

I can't tell you how much i appreciate the comments and great information. It eases my mind and helps me cope with this overwhelming time. At least i know more what to expect and that helps a lot. Still I'm gonna be glued to the phone hoping she calls with good news. This is really hard!

Hopefully, you do get that call this week.

How do i join a discussion group?

You can reply to discussions as you are now and you can join groups. You have joined 2 groups already. I'm not sure what you are asking.

Hi, I had a hard time during my sons last week too as he had problems with his float; when he called home and wrote his letters he was so distraught, just reading your concerns gives me flashbacks. He got through, just know in your heart that your daughter will try her very best. Good luck!!!

I received a call from my recruit today saying he failed the swim test. PIR is 3/18 will he have other chances to pass

Yes. They want them to succeed.
Good luck to you and your son. He will have more opportunities. Worst case scenario you will get a call from him next week saying he has been moved to the FIT division if he hasn't passed yet. But that's worst case scenario and he still has several chances before that happens and still more chances after that happens. So positive thoughts coming your way that the next call you get will be the one that says he passed!

Shanny's mom, the call she received was the call indicating that he was moved to FIT since his division would have had the last PFA today before BST.

wanda72, don't cancel your plans for PIR yet. There is info for you in Battle Stations-21 (BST).  Join fit program.
