Navy For Moms

My youngest son went to boot camp 2 years ago. I am so happy we were able to be there for his PIR! ( My parents came all the way from Florida!) It is such a wonderful experience- -for all!
I can still hear my son's words to me after the ceremony. He said "Boot camp was tough sometimes, but I would do it all over again for that ONE MOMENT when they opened the big door and there are hundreds of family/friends there cheering and clapping for us! That was amazing and made it all worth it!"

My son just graduated 5/29 & he too is staying in GL they can go up to 50 miles but must be back each night my sons div was an honors division so they were allowed out until 9:30 Friday & Saturday & 8pm on Sunday pick up was 8am both days however they may have duty sometime during the weekend as well they will not know until after PIR. Saturday we went to Six Flags it was a great park not too busy & tickets are $34 on base in the NEX game room in addition several people stopped my son & thanked him which was nice they must stay in uniform all weekend dress whites on Friday & peanut butters the other days. It does not matter what you do it will be one of the greatest moments of your life!!!

I will be attending my son's PIR in about 2 days..8 hrs and so many minutes ( didn't check the countdown clock lately) and have heard when those big doors open to have the tissues ready!! I already need tissues just thinking about it!! I wish that Brandon's grandparent's could come too, but with all of his siblings, we were at our max!

I just grabbed a tissue... it still kinda takes my breath, just thinking about it!..It is a wonderful memory! Please tell Brandon "BRAVO ZULU, SAILOR!" from the mom of one!
Enjoy the PIR and the time with your sailor! Take lots of pictures! (And buy the DVD/video!)
