Navy For Moms

My son is in boot camp right now...ship 13, division 088. He told me on the phone about another recruit who has been crying because his mother is sick. One of the DI's humiliated him and told him in front of everyone that the only way he would get out of BC was to be kicked out or die. I heard from a girlfriend of one of the sailors in my son's same division that her boyfriend told HER about the young man also.

I don't believe in coincidence. I believe that God has brought this boy's plight to our attention so that he can receive prayer. I am not sure what is wrong with his mother but it must be serious. Please join me in offering prayer for his mother's health and his well being. I have written my son to ask the boy's name and when I get it, I will post here my email so anyone who wants to write him can.

OK true DI's should not coddle the recruits. BUT please give me a break. There are certain circumstances that require a human side. I am a Army Brat and the wife of a Retired Navy Sailor and I have a son in the Navy and one going to BC in Dec. I will tell you my husband in no way would have treated a new recruit or new sailor like this one was treated. He would have done everything possible to help him and his family. The DI could have gotten ahold of the Red Cross and have them check things out if he wanted. No need to be a well I am not going to put the word on here I would really like to use. This really upsets me. UGH!!!!!!!
