Hi Parents!

My son arrived at Great Lakes yesterday. I'm looking to connect with other parents whose recruit did, as well. My daughter is in the Navy - over 5 years now - and our parent group during her time at Grear Lakes, was wonderful.

I'm guessing that means that they haven't taken their baseline run then? I should just stop trying to figure things out as it makes me crazy - lol!

My son called today to get more information, requested, for his background check. He's so sick. Broke my heart. He was already in a division he said, but they weren't taking fitness test until this afternoon, so I'm still going to wait on form to confirm. Praying all is well. Hate that he's taking that test, feeling so poorly.

I'm so sorry to hear your son is sick. That is one thing I have been so worried about with my daughter. I'm sure there are several of them dealing with this.  Will pray for him and all of them to restored health and be able to perform well and to the best of their abilities on their run!  I know we all worry, but there have been thousands before them dealing with all of this and I'm sure they will get through it just fine :)

Absolutely

I'm so sorry he is sick, cant imagine going through all that they do when they are sick. Sending prayers and hope for strength to gets through it. You all are wonderful. It is great to hear some news regardless of what it is.  (No news is good news is tough on a control freak mom:))

My son arrived at Great Lakes on December 18 as well.  The wait for the letter with his address is killing me.

Thank you

Our son arrived 12/17! I have tons of emotions and tons of questions but living on no news is good news. Looking forward to receiving the first letter. Our son isn't a writer so not expecting a novel from him. Probably a few lines.

Any new news?  We are still waiting on the form letter, but today the recruiter finally got us an address so  hopefully accurate.  I am hoping you all are well and starting to get news from your SRs!

I'm so glad you got the address. Saturday, I received the form and the 1st letter from my son. Hope yours arrives soon.

My son arrived 12/17- we got from letter 12/31 and his box the Thursday of the week he arrived (like 3 days later). It came fedex. We weren't home but there was a fedex sticker on our door. Double check all of your doors for the sticker (it was on our front door and we never use it- never would have seen it if I didn't have to fix the wreath on it) and  I'd call your local hub. Hope this helps.

The ribbon I ordered from Memory Makers arrived today. Such a nice Navy Mom. She made my daughter's in 2013, too. I cant share a photo since this site doesn't permit last names, but please check her site out if you haven't already. Uniquememorymakers.com
