My son's ship date is March 24, 2010. Would like to connect with other mom's whose son's will be joining this elite group.

Once your son is in boot camp, he will have a ship number and division number, along with a graduation (PIR) date. Typically someone starts a group looking for other mothers with sons who are in the same division. That is a great way to connect with other moms who are in the exact place as you and will be going through this with you.

Once they graduate boot camp, they move across base for Pre BUD/S. As divisions PIR each week, a BUD/S class is formed and they go through 8-12 weeks of physical training before being shipped to Coronado as a class. There is a group for those moms here:

You will notice on the Pre BUD/S page that there are groups listed by class number. Eventually someone will start a group for your son's class and it will get added here by me, so that other moms looking to connect can find you. You cannot discuss training or class movement there, but it is encouraged that you swap emails or friend request each other through this site to send private messages (PM's).

Dear Kimandtheboys,
Thank you for the link and the information! I appreciate you taking the time to respond. This is actually going to be my second go around. My older son's PIR was 3.27.09 and he is now in Groton, CT in his A school for ET Nav. I was so fortunate to be at his PIR even though it caused some problems with he and I, long story. My second son enlisted a week before he graduated High School and has his sites set on being a SEAL. I am so proud of both of my boys, but never in a million years would I have thought I would be the mother of military children. With my second son, (Dylan) going this route it feels new to me all over again, so your information is comforting to know. It is amazing how WE do survive BC, never mind what our children go through!! ;) Thanks again for your help.
Sandy

Glad I could help...please don't use your son's name on the site. It's a BUD/S thing. :) Also, I assume his last name is the same as yours, so you should remove it from your profile. To change the way it appears in the web address bar, you will have to click on "settings" and scroll to the bottom to edit that.
