Has anyone heard from their son/daughter yet? Haven't heard from my son. Suppose to graduate on Friday June 23.

If you have not heard from your recruit, then he is on track to have PIR on Friday. See Battle Stations-21 (BST).

BST sounds rough.  cried just reading it.  closer to Friday, the more emotional I am becoming.  I am such a wimp.

When can my son get his cell phone back?  and what can I send him while he is in A school?

Stephanie, he can use his cell phone on Liberty on Friday once he leaves the RTC. He will have to give it back to you before he goes back to the RTC Friday night. You will be able to meet him at the airport and give it to him along with the charger, his laptop (if he has one), favorite undies, and a few other things. See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend for other requested items and to help you know how to plan your weekend.

You can send him care packages while in "A" School--food and a few civilian clothes. Remember he doesn't have much room. Also, his "A" School is short, 7 weeks after classing up, and he will be home on Leave for about 10 days before he goes to his first duty station.

Check your My Page.

My ex husband is attending the ceremony. I could not go :(

I will see what he wants other than his cell phone and send the care package then.

Thanks for all the excellent information.

Will your ex be able to take his cell phone to him? If not, you can mail it to him when you have his address.
Be sure to watch the Livestream of PIR.

no, He lives in Delaware and I am Maryland.  I will mail it to him.

Not to worry... will be clued to my computer friday morning! LOL.... with lots and lots of tissue.

:o)

Is there time to ask about the flight time when I receive my son's "I'm a sailor" call? It is really hard to plan without that piece of information.

Bluelove, your Sailor may know the flight details when making the "I'm a Sailor!" call. Some do. Some don't have them until the morning of PIR. You can ask if he knows. He will not be rushed when he calls.

If he isn't able to tell you until after PIR on Friday, then the plan is to set up a time to meet him at the airport after he gets there and before his flight.
