If you go to MWRtravelplus.com you can get really great rates on flights, hotel and car rental if need be, that's what I did, after checking out the regular channels. Moral, Welfare & Recreation is in conjunction with the Naval base and Travel Plus takes care of our boys/girls flights home etc. They have a map online that will show you the hotels/motels distance in relation to the base. I made reservations at the Days Inn in Great Lakes on Highway 41, it's 1 mile from the base. We were originally going to drive but it's at least 16 hours for us.....We would have been sleeping thru PIR....Check it out. You won't be sorry.

hi Julie. my son Josh is in this DIV as well. I just started a group for that PIR date. "PIR December 19, 2008". It might be better for us if we communicate in one group instead of having to do searches for our fellow PIR Moms, and posting in several different discussions for info.

has anyone heard from your kids at all today from this div.and ship? i am waiting so patiently...i don't want to miss him and i am so scared i will... i have plans but don't dare to go in case i don't get service where i am at on my cell....MISSING MY SON!!!!!

I had gotten the impression originally from my hubby that Sundays were a more likely day to get calls so it really surprised me that we got calls last week on Saturday so maybe tomorrow.......

Thats what i thought too Anne... So yes last weekend was very surprising to receive phone call saturday...So i am hoping tomorrow....Cross our fingers they get phone calls this weekend.... Its really hard when you see some of these parents received 2 phone calls in one week and i have only received one call.
Also just wanted to let you know that your baby is so precious....
