Navy For Moms

Dusty is done with A school on Friday. He didn't go to school for the job he originally signed his contract for. Does anyone know if he still gets his signing bonus? I know he wouldn't get it all, but will he still get it?

I understand if he fails to complete school for that rate that provided the bonus - the bonus is null and void. We have a number of recruiters and NC folks here now that can give you the facts.

HI Dusty's Mom, My son was told in BC that he needed to choose a different job and he reluctantly signed a new contract.
His original job was CTI and his original contract was for 6 years with the bonus that came with CTI. The new contract was for sub yeoman and a 4 year contract. After yeoman school and sub school, he finally found a job detailer to help him get to the defense language institute and CTI rating. He successfully completed language school, but because he had signed that new contract at boot camp, his appeal for the original bonus was denied. The flip side is that he's received a lot of training and is still on a 4 year contract with a lot of bargaining power for re-enlistment bonus if he decides to stay in.
