Navy For Moms

I am not sure how this is all done. I have a problem. My son has been in a very bad motorcycle accident. He is in bad condition. My son has always told me that there is a POA and will. He was very bad about mailing things to me. I am trying to find out if the Navy keeps that information. If they do where ans who would I contact. How can I contact to find out. He is in Norfolk and I am in Washington state. I am trying to get there. He was to be married on Aug 1st. I have plane tickets already but its not until the 29th. The airline wants over 1100.00 to change our tickets. They are for my husband myself and his sister.
I dont know what to do. I know getting there is important but they have him on versid. So there in nothing he is going to remember about any of this. I know there is nothing at all I can do for him yet. So I have been trying to take care of all the other things. But without the POA there isnt much I can do. Can anyone offer me any advise. Where to I go in the Navy to get answeres.

If you can't get ahold of the Chaplin, please add me as a friend and let me know the command your Seabee is stationed at and I will do my best to get you the correct number.

Denise ----- click on the picture of Hoppi, it will take you to her page. Then on the upper right hand site of her page is a link that says add as friend. Click that and it will ask Hoppi to be your friend. She will then accept and write to you.
You need to keep an eye out on the upper left hand side it says inbox ---- when you see that you have 1 (or more) Click it and it takes you to what is called a PM (private message) No one can see that But you and whoever you are talking to.
Give Hoppi all the info --she will help you get the info you need !! She is Navy and knows what she is doing , you couldnt have a better person to guide you !!
Best of luck to you & your sailor
If there is anything you ever need dont hesitate to ask. As you can see by the responses we are all family here !!

Denise:

As also said before you can contact the
Red Cross (877) 272-7337

Call them and give them your sons info and his command. Let the Red Cross know that you need the Command to contact you, so when the Red Cross sends the message to the command, the Command will call you.

Understand due to privacy act and HIPPA laws the command may not be able to tell you much.

Hi Denise,

sorry to hear I hope he gets better and my prayers are with you and your family.
I would contact the Airline directly by email. I had to change my tickets and they wanted to add all this fees. but when i complained they replied and waved the changing fee. I hope that helps.
good luck

I am about 20 minutes from Norfolk. Please let me know what I can do to help. If you want, I'll be happy to visit him.
