Oh Kari - I'm so happy for your Sailor (and you!) You both had alot of Navy Moms praying for a good outcome. I'm glad you went ahead to GL and were able to enjoy your new SAILOR for the weekend. So where is he off to now? Good luck to him in A school. Keep us posted!

thank you guys - I am still in shock and on a high........... its absolutely unbelievable that it worked out this way, even several RDCs we ran into while we were waiting said they had never seen it happen that way. :-) but then my son has always done things a little differently and hes always been determined........... ofcourse i had to tease him that he was really bringing his procrastination to a whole new level ;-) hehe
now, he is headed to A school right there at GL to be a GM - hell be there for 6 months, but will atleast come home at Christmas, and then maybe ill go back a couple months after that again............. we'll see

You did get to spend some time this weekend with Brad? I am sure having prayers and thoughts from 25,000 Moms didn't hurt either. Congratulations to him on is completion and to you for being there and never giving up. He just took it all to a new level.

Kari, I told you no matter what, you needed to go and I'm glad you did. Congratulations on his graduation and finally passing that test! I hope you know that we were all a nervous wreck waiting to hear from you! Our kids are truly amazing people...just like their parents...but sometimes, don't you just want to slap them and say, "don't ever do that to me again...get it right the first time!" hehehe Ah, no wonder we go gray! Glad you had a good time and were able to spend time with him.

Hi, my son almost did not past either, if it was not for another sailor or MADE him he would of not done it. I think they get 3 tries. See if he can find someone to run with. If your son did not pass you would know. I hope I am not too late answering your concern, I am sorry he is so upset but he needs to relax and he will pass it the next time. Hope all turns out well I live an hour from Great Lakes, if you need any information just let me know.

Dont worry you will here ups and downs from your son. Of what I know he will get another try. Some men/women in my sons division had that happen to them. They do not want any of them to fail. I have not called my sons recruiter since he went in and I will not, my son would be furious with me ( I have learned over the past year - time to let go he is a man now) Now he calls me on his own just to talk. When he first went to A school I was doing all the phone calls. I had the scare of my life at the meet n greet the night before PIR, everyone received their " I AM A SAILOR" call, I never did. He decided to call some girls instead. I also think our sons our testing us.The last time my son called home he even wanted to talk to his step-father - WOW I never thought that would happen .
Dont worry so much your son will be fine. I told my son my proudest day was seeing him at graduation and becoming part of the U.S. Navy. Take care
