Has anyone else seen "Taking Chance" on HBO demand? WOW! What a movie! I think I sobbed during most of. The respect that the military has for their own is overwhelming. I didn't know all that they do for those coming home.

The honor that the citizens had too. It was a really sad but uplifting movie. It gave me hope for humanity. Honor was due and they gave it.
It is a parents worst nightmare, but .....there is no but.

Hi Rebbca,
Yes I saw it, my husband wanted to know why? I told him it was important to know what is done for the fallen when they are sent home to their loved ones. He watched it with me, he had a better understanding of why I wanted to watch it. My heart was tugged deeply through out the whole movie,
I watched it twice. It is important for famillies to know that there is great care taken in the preperations of the fallen. There is pride, honor, and the ut most respect shown. I felt sad but at the same time I felt at peace knowing that our fallen are not just shipped home but lovingly cared for during the process.

I have not seen the movie as of yet. My son got back from Afghanistan in December. He is a FMF Medical Corpsman. He lived through an awful lot and that included seeing his friends KIA. I can't even write the words out. It makes me cry everytime. My heart hurts for them, their families, and for my son and the other marines who were there. The loyalty and love that my son has for his fellow corpsman and marines that parished that day will always be there in his heart. He wears his bracelet in memory of them everyday. I am so very grateful for the outstanding respect and care that is given to their fallen. The men and women held services/memorials held in the camp and from what I understand also in the other camps in Afghanistan as well. When my son had to go to Warrior Transitioning they had a memorial service there too for their fallen comrades. That day will forever stay with my son. And his friends will always be in a special place in his heart. I know this goes for all the others who were and are over there in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have the utmost sincere respect and loyalty for their fallen comrades.
