USS Ft. McHenry

Just wanted to put something up and see if there are any other Mom's on here with a sailor aboard the ship USS Ft. McHenry. My son is on there and they shipped out last Tuesday. Would like to connect with anyone who this might apply to. I'm having the darndest time getting any info about how to mail or email him. I've been getting fantastic help from Rebecca on the forum 'What is an Ombudsman and how to contact them' however it's just not panning out so far. I would just like to, oh well, you all understand, I'm missing my son!

My son youngest son Josh is on the USS Ft. McHenry. He gave me his email address on the ship. I sent him an email last weekend and waiting for him to email me back. Sometimes it takes awhile to get a response because of him working.

Glad you commented. I was beginning to wonder if Michelle's and my son's were the only two running the ship! LOL That terrified me more than anything! LOL I've seen the way my son drives and I shudder to think of him navigating the boat, yet that's almost what he does. lol

Seriously though what does your son do on the ship? My son, NIck, is and operations specialist.

I've gotten a couple of emails now and yes they do come at odd times, but each one is a gift!

Just thought I would pass along that I heard from my son Nick again and he let me know they are in port. Location unknown to me for, of course security purposes.

My son, Jamell, is also on the USS Ft. McHenry. He called yesterday and said there are two rumors going around: that the ship will be home early AND that they will be extended for two months because one of the other ships in the fleet has an epidemic of a virus (swine flu?). He also said he had been in Greece and Crete but could not disclose their current location... It is so frustrating when he calls because it is so noisy it is difficult to hear him! Yet, it is great to hear his voice!!:)

Nice to meet you Jamellmom! Nick has yet to call but I do get emails at least once a week which is great. He hasn't said anything about the rumors you mentioned but I will keep my ears/eyes lol peeled. I bet it is great to hear his voice. What does your son do on the ship?

Hi My daughter Jennifer is also on the USS Fort McHenry. She is in the pharmacy. While she is gone I have her 2 year old son, so there is good and bad to her being gone.

I haven't heard either of the rumors but like Kris I will keep eyes and ears open. It must be great to hear his voice. I like Kris get a few emails but haven't gotten much lately. Glad to see a few more moms from our ship. Cody called a few times early in the deployment, but his phone charger broke and his phone is dead, soooo that is over until I can get another sent to him. What does Jamal do on board? Talk to you later.

Hi deberini! You have your hands full with the two year old! How is your daughter doing in the Navy? I know I never could have done the military way so I admire her very much for her choice.

Jennifer is doing very well in the Navy. She misses her son terribly though. I think that is the hardest thing for her. I get to talk to her as often as she can get signal and allowed to use their cell phones.
