We just got our first letters today. One was during the time he was in p-hold, probably right after Thanksgiving. The second he wrote the following Monday. Jamie said they didn't get much sleep the first couple of days. It snowed quite a bit, maybe 4 inches, I'm guessing that was a week ago Sunday. He enjoyed that, being from Florida and North Carolina he hasn't seen much of it. He also said his division had been doing quite a bit of PT-D because they weren't doing everything right. The postmark on the envelope was 12/8, so I guess he wasn't allowed to send the letters for quite a while after he wrote them.

Patti, Have you joined the PIR group yet? I haven't seen you post anything there yet so I was just checking on you.

Hello, I am not a mom, but my husband is in this ship and div... last week they had thier first of 2 fitness test... i have heard that their div got in trouble a couple times and had to do extra workouts--a few guys threw-up... a couple folks are struggling with making beds/folding and getting in trouble...That's as much detail as i have gotten. They only get to mail out letters once a week... I think this week they are working on fire arms... the food is great apparently and sundays don't allow for too much free time---my husband has opted to study instead of church so he doesn't get behind. No phone calls for me yet... 2 letters.... I am having address issues---where are you sending your letters? Andrew graduates on the 23rd too and I just reserved rooms at the residence inn---they gave us a suprisingly low rate! Oh, he said he has been having to write letters in the dark... not lots of time.... Andrew's recruiter said on Christmas they may get some liberty and may be able to call home. Anyone recieved a phone call?

Hey Gina, I'm glad to hear from someone else in this division. Be sure to join the PIR 1/23 group too. My son is in this group. His name is Philip. We haven't had any phone calls either. I've been sending letters out to boat 05 div 078 and the street address the recruiter gave me. I hope my son is getting mail. I haven't heard from him since Dec. 10. His letter was dated the first Sunday after he had arrived. I hate to hear that they are having problems, but that would explain why we haven't heard anything in soooo long. My husband and I are staying at the Navy Lodge ($62/night).

Cheryle,
I looked for the PIR group and was unable to find it...
