Watch for toll roads while attending PIR

For those going to PIR, a little info on the toll roads:
You can get stuck in one because of traffic. The cameras take your picture and you get a bill months later for much,much more than the toll. If you get stuck in a toll road, contact the IL toll authorities and pay it. If you are renting a car, for an additional fee you can get the tolls paid automatically.

Stay away from the I-Pass lane unless you have an I-Pass. Watch closely so you get in one of the cash lanes. Cash lanes are to the right at Mainline Toll Plazas, but, as happened to us, at ramps, this is not always the case. Have plenty of quarters and nickels because the rates vary depending on the booth.

You have 7 days to pay the toll without incurring additional penalties. You need to know the time and location. There is a map that can help you to figure out the location.

If you have a GPS system, take it with you or rent one with your car rental - it will allow you to by pass the toll roads around Great Lakes and you will find that you can save money and have a nicer ride.
