Sorry to hear this. She is in boot camp, I presume?
hm - that sounds right - but I am not sure.
I hope all goes well for you.
Is she being sent to ship 17? If so, you might want to join that group and find some information.

If she goes to ship 17, you need to get more info. But I think if she goes there she'll have a lot of contact with you. There is a group to help you get info.Keep the faith.

My friend Troy had a leg fracture in boot camp. He was on hold, but took the initiative to stay busy and help the POs in charge of ship 17 as much as possible. He healed up fine, but I wasn't tracking his graduation date so I am not sure of how much of a delay there was until graduation. Several weeks at least. I'll ask next time I can get in touch with him.

Anti M -thank you for the info..I was not aware of ship 17. As far as we know by her last letter they were icing her leg off and on...and from what I could hear on our last phone conversatoion she was not allowed to do anything physical or IT..... Norma

My Sailor hurt his shoulder while off duty (he's in Japan)... They've xrayed it & say it's not a torn Rotator Cuff & put him on light duty for a couple of weeks.... I want to know if he feels he isn't healed well enough & they want to put him back on fulll duty can he strongly request more time to make sure it's really healed????

Your Sailor needs to be talking with his Doc, if he is not healed they can put him on LIMDU (but that is up to the Doc), which means he will be taking away from his ship and put at a shore command for at least 6 months to heal.

He can request a second opnion though to get another Doc to look at him. If the Doc thinks he is faking it and just not wanting to go back to work after medical says he is cleared....well we know what can happen with that one.

Ship 17 is for people who are in Bootcamp and either getting kicked out of the Navy due to medical or legal reasons.
