So i got my SR's Form letter today and was very surprised when it said Ship 2 Div 949 since he doesn't play an instrument or sing (at least not well lol). I was wondering if some one could tell me some more about the DIv and if it is a good or bad thing that he is in it?

My son was in a performance division and it was a good thing, of course they have a little extra work with practice. I know they have those who play in the band, some carry flags, others sing or do the rifles and honor guard

Division 949 is not a Triple Threat division, so he would not need to play an instrument or sing. The Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will be of interest to you since you have a recruit in a performing division. I believe that Division 949 is Ship Staff/Honor Guard. It is neither a good thing nor a bad thing that he is in the division although we generally say that it is an honor to be chosen.

My son is also Ship 2 Division 949. I just got his letter yesterday and was so thrilled to get the information. He was in band and ROTC in HS but I guess from what I have read, this division is Ship Staff/Honor Guard. Maybe we can share stories!
I have one in DIV 951
My daughter is in division 951 also. Since I know she can't sing and she has not played a musical instrument since Jr High, I am interested in what she will be doing.
Ditto!! Mine is very athletic and fit.. Sports always
My kid is seriously fit too! All those gym hours have finally paid off it sounds like. Haha
