"A" SCHOOL IN GREAT LAKES

Anyone out there who's sailor is staying at Great Lakes for A School?
Love to get some advice from anyone with a Sailor there.

My son David is presently at Great Lakes waiting for his A School to begin. He's been waiting a couple of weeks now and hopefully classes for Corpsman school with begin next week.

My daughter Kristen is also currently waiting for Corpsman school to start in Great Lakes. She graduated June 13. So we don't know what is next. She believes that she would get her orders today Tuesday the 17th. I'm still waiting to hear from her.

I'm still waiting to hear from my boyfriend as well... have you gotten a call or anything because I haven't?

I got a call Tuesday night. It lasted about 2 minutes. Just long enough to say that A school was rough and that I could send her, her cell phone. I told her to just hold in there, that they wouldn't be the low man on the pole for ever and that her cell phone would ship out tomorrow. She wants her lap top also. I will send it out probably next week. I wonder when her schooling will start and if she knows were she will be after A school. You know how they are are about giving you information.

I got a phone call Tuesday also.. We talked for about 5 minutes and then he said he would call me back but he never did!!! We are suppose to be going to get him a phone this weekend... I am pretty sure things will look up for Kristen... when she gets her phone everything will be alright!!! I haven't even gotten Aaron's address. He says he doesn't know it. Hopefully I will get it one day soon. I hope I get a phone call tonight or tomorrow atleast. I cannot wait to see him again!!!

Be sure to tell her to go check in about 4 days for the package...they dont give mail calls in A school like the did in bootcamp...Two of Codys pagkages got returned to us because he didnt know they were there

Navy Dad "Mark": my daughter just graduated last Friday, and is presently waiting for Corpsman "A" School to start, like your son. Yesterday she called and said to send her phone and civilian clothes, and to give us her address. The phone was awful, I could hardly hear her, so I didn't get to ask many questions. Does your son still use "SR" before his name, and how long is this true? Also, she said she can wear civilian clothes on the weekend, my son (Nuke) couldn't wear regular clothes for several weeks. What is your son's schedule like while he waits?

Lisa my son is a SN then his last name,first middle, yes they can wear civilian clothes on the weekends. have their phones, laptops I just didn't send to many because they do not have that much room in thier Barricks. he graduates on Wed from A school corpsman, and gets to come home for a couple of weeks. yea! than on to San Diego camp Pendleton

my sailor is just finishing up with A school in GL for a corpsman, he graduates on Wed. then is coming home for a couple of weeks, yea! Is next orders are in San Diego. he is very happy about that.

hello, I was wondering if you might be able to answer some questions for me since your child is done with his A school. 1. Do they get any type of liberty? Do yhey get weekends off? My son will be out of bootcamp soon and we were just wondering if they can be visited by family anytime. thanks
