It was tough and very challenging but he loved it! It really places them in a new phase of their life and grows them up even more than boot camp does. They learn to rely on themselves and their mates. And how to be a team! Some of the changes are good and some of them are not so much bad but hard for us moms. You'll see what I mean. Anyway, glad you got to spend time with your son. I wish him all the luck.

Thanks Melody! How did your son like the experience of FTMB? Looks challenging. My son was home for Thanksgiving, which was wonderful - wish I could have kept him around for Christmas!
I too send my prayers with those deploying; thank you for adding the Marine's quotation about God's grace...so comforting. Bless every single one.

Welcome Marci, I'm melody and my son just graduated FMTB and due to order change is now at CL. He was suppose to go to Geiger but for some reason he is at CL for 30 days? and then to Geiger. He is working in the ICU at the Naval Hospital. Hopefully he will get to come home on the 28th but his leave hsn't been approved yet. so we'll see. Hope to get to kow you.

Praying for all of our Men and Women deploying. I believe 116 of my sons graduating class last Tuesday are being deployed the first part of January! I am praying for them all and want to say thank you to them and their families for thier courage, strength and comittment! God Bless them all!!

Good Morning from Camp Lejeune
the place is busy with deployment preparations and departures.
Holiday Potlucks, Graduations of one kind or another. Traffic as always is crazy.
Temps are colder than the natives expected, rather plesant for a visitor from the North.
We will be here for a few weeks, if we can assist in anything, let me know, I will check back in as internet connections allow

Afternoon everyone, It's been a while since I have been on for many reasons. But, today I just wanted to check in on everyone and say congratulations to all of our young men and women who will be graduating from FMTB next Tuesday. They have come so far in such a short period of time and I am soo very PROUD of them.
For all of you mothers who will have sons or daughters who will be deploying soon please know my heart and prayers are with you! I was watching the today show yesterday am and the interview done with the marine couple hit home!! When the young Marine made the statement, Twas Grace that brought us here thus far and Grace will lead us home it gave me more strength than he or his wife will ever know!! It literally brought me out of my shell and made me CORPSMAN UP!! I know the possibility of my son being Deployed is very real now, probably even sooner now that he has finished school. And even though I know my Lord, it does not make the thought easier. What does make it easier is knowing this is "HIS decision and Gods. So with that I leave all of you, who have children deployed already or those who are like me and are just awaiting that dreadful call, with this , Please continue the battle to stand strong and not let them see the fear that you may have and know " Twas God's Grace that has brought us here thus far and it will be God's Grace that will bring my "DOC" and yours home!! In his Grace------ Melody

Only since last April he is just now finishing up FMBT and I'm worried but I try not to let him know. I'm very proud of him.
