True..
But you are a Junior in HS. So talk to your parents about what your wanting to do and talk to a recruiter with them. You can join before you graduate high school and be in dep. My son was in dep his senior year. There are lots of advantages to being in dep.
Don't settle for anything you don't want. Time is on your side and you can sit and wait for a opening.
How do your parents feel about your wanting to join?
Don't worry if they are against it at first. Alot are, but we get over it and become your biggest fans.... LOL...

My son is on the base where he does his job, he does not have to walk very far from the Barrack's to his duty station.
he loves his job and say's that he is getting pretty good at it. his commanding officer's are pretty cool to him he tells me,
they have alot of confidence in him in knowing that he can do the job. that makes me feel really proud of him because he is growing up, finally! he seems to have more confidence in himself and is very proud of what he does for our country! he is not on a ship and that makes him feel ok. he isn't really sure if he will ever be on a ship! he is hoping that maybe before his time is up in the Navy, that maybe he will be. until that time he say's he is very proud to be in The United States Navy!!!

2 more weeks before the results come out. ( I think)
Hope you enjoy your visit at Christmas.
Mine is in forecasting school right now (in Norfolk) and will probably be deployed again next spring.
Looking forward to him coming home for Christmas also.
