OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Phoenixmom thank you so much!  Definitely had to remind him of past conversations and took at it differently.  They words they say are just that, WORDS.  He knows the truth, but it ticked him so much that I don't think I have seen him that mad EVER!

I truly don't know how that is acceptable.  All these sights I below too is all happy and jovial etc, does anyone else not experience this?  I can't imaging we are the first and won't be the last.  Or do people just not talk about it?

He will definitely find his way, just right now he is unhappy and has regrets.  Now it is getting him back on track and giving him a positive outlook.  Luckily my research I have found some information that may be helpful for him.  It may take awhile my thought is fight it and talk about and make it known what occurred.  No excuses just facts!

Thanks again!

Hope everyone has a great day!  Thanks to all the Sailor/Military for their service.

Good Morning Ladies Happy Wednesday!

I am feeling much Better, Thank you Mattsmomma.

NMRob I cant find the words to say, this is such BS. excuse my language. Yes I would of felt the same way, It seems to me someone meaning Recruiter didn't do his job right. Heads up to your Sailor for standing up to what is right for him and being positive for what he knows is the right choice for him. I'm just so sorry he had to endure words like that when he wasn't at fault for that. I hope you can get to the bottom of this. Just know we are here for you and your Sailor! Take a deep breath everything will fall into place.

Update!  My sailor is rerated to S-PACT Undesignated and his contract was tore up.  This is fine since he should not have been in that rate to begin with, but it is what it is.  What frustrates me, is he sat there for 3 hours in front of the ARB and was berated and then telling him he is a Piece Of Shite and a Failure and has no direction in life!  WTH!  First they set him up to FAIL, he is no failure since a failure is someone who doesn't even try, he gave his all in something he didn't qualify for and failed.  This does NOT make him a failure.  Then to call him a Piece of Shit!  Oh no!!!!  This momma is not happy at all!  While I am sure they have a purpose to handle things the way they did, the only they accomplished is he is pissed off and wishes he never joined the Navy!  He is having many regrets!  He does belong to the Navy and hopefully he finds his way being an undesignated sailor and finds his path and has a different out look.  Way to go NAVY.  While I am still proud to be a Navy Mom and proud of my son, I am not happy with the way this handled.  Fortunately, I am doing research and providing my sailor with information to possibly help him.

Sorry for lashing out, just not happy with the handling of this situation.

Thanks for listening.

Amazingly my Sailor is no longer upset and is ready to determine what his destiny is.  In our conversations, he finally has the right approach that if it is meant to be it will be for this rate.  God will determine what plans he has for him and will see him through.   He has been unhappy with the schooling at GL and is ready to move on, forward and upward and prove what a great Sailor he can be.

It is the waiting and the unknown of the next steps that is more difficult.

He has good spirits and a great support system that is proud of him, family and his Sailor girlfriend!

I will keep this group updated as soon as we hear anything.

So very sorry to hear about this MNRob. I can’t imagine the frustration and the unknown. Prayers for the best outcome. If this rate isn’t for him he will eventually find the right one in which he can enjoy and thrive. He’s not a failure he may just be on the wrong path.
