Phoenixmom, Thank you. He was out on the water for 1 week, back to shore for 1 week, now he is out again.  They will be doing these small trips for a while, then gone for 8 months to 1 year.  That will be a hard one.  He is so happy though that I cannot be sad.  I just want him to be happy.  How is your sailor doing?

A School Graduations are usually nothing special.  The most important thing is getting to see your son!  Enjoy and congratulaions to your sailor.  As a side note, My son graduated from Great Lakes as an E.T.   He is now on a Destroyer, and will be attending C school starting in May.  He is loving San Diego.

We are headed to Great Lakes tomorrow.  My son will be graduating on Friday from A school as an IC.  He leaves on Monday for San Diego for C school.  He is pretty excited to be leaving Great Lakes....LOL!!!  We can't wait to see him and spend a couple days with him.  My husband and I are bringing his two grandmothers with also.  They are over the moon exited!!!  His twin brother is in San Antonio at hospital corpsman school.  These boys are keeping us traveling, that's for sure!!!

What time of day are the A school graduations at Great Lakes usually held?

I couldn't pass it right now, although maybe I could because I am freakishly good at multiple choice.  They're using the standard Navy question format.  One right answer, two which are close, and one which is obviously wrong.

Hi Tina,

My daughter spent two months before BC studying the study guide.  It's a lot of information, especially regarding the ranks.  After all the quizzing, I knew the Sailor's Creed by the time she left.  LOLOL!  While I can see that it would be really tough trying to absorb all of that at BC with the lack of sleep and everything going on around him, it can be done.  It's a lot of memorization.  Hopefully, he can use some mneumonic techniques and his buddies can help quiz him.  He just needs to take one thing at a time and breathe.  Will keep him in my prayers!!

I am not familiar with the liberty test at all, we didn't have them back then.

Found it.  Some of it is basic boot camp stuff, some of it is base policy and procedure, some of it is from their EO training.  It is easy, just overwhelming if he is stressed.  The example I found is probably one of several variations.

Does anyone know about the liberty phase 2 test? Mine is having some difficulty with it and I can’t fidn out much online about what’s really on it. He’s frustrated and so I don’t want to ask him to explain everything he’s talking about. I try to understand what he is expected to know on this test but frankly I don’t have a clue. He says is easy so I’m not understanding why he isn’t passing or getting hits. He says the study guide isn’t helping. I’m sure it’s soemthinf he’s missing or some details he is leaving out. This is the frustrating part...

Good Morning Ladies hope all is well.

WeAreNavy my Son waited to see what he was allowed to take back and that Sat. we did go shopping, he found that they had a fridge in their room not very big and not sure if all rooms have them. But he was able to take food back but in containers, and a soft warm blanket as Ellen0502 mentioned some T-shirts, New Tennis because it was mentioned that they do not want to continue wearing the ones from BC because they could end up injuring their feet. and the rest was Hygiene. But yes they do have the NEX store. we also purchased some shout out wipes, lint roller. But again all barracks have their own rulles so it is best to wait until he knows for sure.
