Good Morning Butterball, The Frocking Ceremony is when our sailors get promoted to E4/Petty Officer. My Sailor has asked us to be there so that one of us can pin him. I was originally supposed to by the 16th, but has been changed to the 20th.
Bandmom what is the Frocking Ceremony? Sorry, but I just don't know what it is. Thank you in advance.
Phoenixmom, Best of Luck to your sailor!. I am about to be in the same boat (so to speak). My son graduated A School today, Has his Frocking Ceremony next Tuesday, and leaves for his new assignment on the following Tuesday. He said his ship just left port, so will be flying out to meet it. Wow, sometimes the navy does move fast. God's Speed to you and your sailor.
Well Ladies I have some News, My Son was deployed out left yesterday, and just got word he made it to his destination. I found out Friday as he did, and was a big Surprise to him and me. I was a total mess Friday evening, but I prayed on it and I am ok. Just another Journey that I am having to learn about and understand. hope to become stronger and wiser as These Journeys come and go. Just one week going on two out of A school. Whoooo! that was a lot. but I am very blessed to have such Great knowledgeable people on this site that are helping me with information.
Thank you Phoenixmom
Tessie keep your head up, I'm sure your Son will do fine, he will need to focus a little harder but it will all work out.
Anti M - thank you
He did the first time and did say he would be having to do mandatory study this time. It is a relief to hear they don't separate for this. He did well ASVAB and normally does well testing. I keep sending him encouragement and positive words. I can't thank you and the ladies in this group enough for all the support and information.
Have a good day!
Has he already gone onto mandatory study? I'd think so.
The Navy won't separate him for failing a written exam in ATT, but they may re-rate him, or send him to the PACT (undesignated) program. They'll look at his ASVAB scores for what he qualifies for, and see what schools/programs have a seat available. Try to be as patient and positive as possible, as this process can take some time.
Good morning,
I was hoping someone could help. My son is in ATT school for IT, He has struggled during week 3, 1st time he failed the test was set back and restarted - week 3 got sick and was set back and on hold for a while waiting for the next class. unfortunately he again failed the week 3 test. does anyone know what might be next. I have seen people say anything from a new rate to separation. He has really tried but seems to struggle the test, he passed the hands on part but the written (computer) part he says he gets stuck.
Thanks in advance for any information. I know he will finds things out maybe next week but was just wondering.
Good Morning Ladies wishing all well, including your Sailors.
