Good Morning Ladies Happy FRIDAY!

Anti M spoke with my Son Last night and he has a sponsor so things are looking good, Thank You!

Butterball I was Missing you! I am so glad things are back together, I have to admit when my Son was here for the Holidays it sure wore me out, took about a week to be able to catch up on my sleep and get everything back together. He is going to be off to San Diego real soon Now. Cant wait it is only like 4-5 hours away, so close to home, YAY!

Thanks for clearing up the school part for me I knew he had two others before the A school.

Have a Great Day Ladies!

After the slow drag of A School, things are going to really start moving fast!  My sailor got his orders TODAY!!  He graduates A School on the 9th, gets promoted to Petty Officer on the 16th (he wants us there for that), and he leaves for San Diego on the 27th!  We are so excited for him!

Finally things are looking familiar to what my sailor is saying.  ATT is what my son is waiting for the class to fill.  Thank you so much for the guidance.

Some of the ratings with A schools at Great Lakes go through ATT first, others go through BECC.  Both are essentially "prep" schools, to give them the basic knowledge they need for their rating.  It is easier to teach the basics in larger groups, then split them into their respective A schools.

ATT = Apprentice Technical Training

BECC = Basic Engineering Common Core

The study guides are available online if you want to see what they are learning.

The ET's are currently the night school students, but they do get Midrats after school. It's probably one of the best meals of the day there on base. :)

Hi Phoenixmom, getting back into the swing of things. It has been crazy at the police department. How have you been? Missing my son for sure, but oh so proud.

So Ladies I see that there are a few new Moms on here, it is so nice to have you along. Believe me A school is so much easier to handle, you get to chat, Skype, text , talk. Nothing like BC that is for sure. They will have their Duty days and school and maybe even night school but that is a good thing but you will always be able to hear from them. Now my Son was going to be an EM so now that I completely know the correct term  is EMFN+= Electricians Mate/Fireman. Thanks o Anti M she is good full of Knowledge. They do attend 2 different classes that they must pass before A school. I believe one was a ATT, second was IT. so it was a total of 5 to 6 moths of schooling. Best wishes to your Sailors in A school. if you want to know more about the schooling of your Sailor you could ask Anti M or Google their Rate (job) and much info will pop up. best wishes!
