Hi everyone.

My son's ship date to RTC was on 11/16.  We just got the form letter and his PIR date is 01-19-18.  That group hasn't formed yet, so I thought I might reach out to see if any Mom's / family would like to connect.  Not sure if we are allowed to list their ship or division on here. My son is planning for the Nukes program so next will be Charleston.  Looking forward to meeting and making connections.  Be well! Marg

My son's PIR is THIS Friday. I'm very excited. He also will be headed to Goose Creek as a Nuke kid. It's been a very long 7 weeks and am looking forward to his "I'm a Sailor" call this week. Please ask if you have any questions. I found out so much information here and on the private Facebook page. Remember that no news is good news. My son's division did not get his 3 week call, so just remember that they always call if something is wrong, if you don't hear anything, they are doing well. I did get lucky with a 1.5 hour phone call on Thanksgiving but that was only permitted for two PIR dates that were close to the end.

Congratulations!  Well done to your sailor!

My son left before Thanksgiving and his birthday.  That was tough  for me!  He will be missed for the holidays, too! I know this is the best thing for him, but I am counting down the days until I see him again.Glad you made it through!

My son left for bc on 11/22, and I haven't received his form letter yet (I'm going crazy!!)..anyway, his initial PIR date (that his recruiter estimated) was 1-19-18.  I guess it's a waiting game right now until I get the official form letter..this no communication thing stinks!!!  ..I'll let you know if his PIR date ends up being 1/19!  Would love to connect!

I guess it depends on the P-days.  Nice to meet you, though! Good luck to both our sailors!

Christiem, your recruit would have had extra P-HOLD days due to Thanksgiving.

The Form Letter arrives an average of ten days after the recruit's arrival at the RTC. Some will have it 7 days after arrival (a few earlier than that, but not many) and most will have it by 14 days after arrival. It will tell you your recruit's address and PIR date and other important information. Keep it in a safe place.

Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within will let you know what is happening and what to expect.

Check your My Page.

Keep checking PIR: January 19, 2018 TG 11 and join when it is up.

Hi ladies! My son left 11/ 9 i just got a phone call from him today. You will receive a phone call 3 weeks after he left.
Be patient! Usually
Takes 11-12 days to send you the form and ship y dividion

Pina, I left info for you on your My Page.

You may receive an "I'm still alive!" call in week 3 or 4 (calendar week, not DOT), but that call can come before or after that depending on when the RDC is able to schedule the phone banks. Don't expect a call, but do have your phone available from 8ish am to 8ish pm Central Time and be pleasantly surprised when you receive a call.  The "I'm still alive!" call or other calls the RDC schedules usually come in the mornings on weekdays except on the day of a PIR because the "I'm a Sailor!" calls, which are typically made 1-7 days, but can come up to 10 days, before PIR, are in the afternoon and evenings, but calls can come anytime during those hours on Saturday.  Calls on the day of a PIR or on Sunday come between 1 and 8 pm. Calls for security reasons or for information are generally made during regular business hours.  Remember "No news is good news!" See Phone Cards and Phone Calls.
