My husband made the reservations, and I think it was one of the places that were in the grad packet. I can't remember the name of it, but it was only 1 mile from base. Jesse will be staying in GL for school. It starts shortly after BC graduation. We have still only gotten one "real" letter, and one phone call. I thought the "missing my son" part would get easier, but I think it's getting harder! He has a birthday at the end of this month, and that will be a hard day us. ............thanks for listening!

My son Erick is also in division 148. He has not called yet but from his letters he says he is a "grad and Go" and only has four hours until he leaves for A school. Do you know what time the graduations ceremony is on the 10th?

What a shame, Suzy. The schedule can be found here:

Suzy, Ceremony starts at 9:00AM and ends at 10:30AM. The Grad Packet said liberty expires at 1PM so the division can prepare for departure. So if he's Grad and Go, you'll have from 10:35Am to 1:00PM with him. Hope this helps

I think graduation is at 9am. They say you can go early, and they want everyone seated by 8:30 am. Hope that helps.

Susan S Mike's Mom - which DIV is Mike in? I still haven't heard from Lexi & it's driving me nuts. A couple of good letters, but no word. I've burned up all of her voice mail, just listening to her voice! Anyway, she's in DIV 156, graduating April 10th. Any additional details on Mass on Easter Sunday would be great to see. Would love to be able to share that with her. Hope the church is big enough!

Thanx to everyone, but the way. I couldn't get thru this in one piece without the support! SR Alexis Immer's proud Mom, Katie

My husband is in DIV 149. I just got my first two letters on Thursday. They were so sweet. He seems to be doing well. Can't wait to get that grad pack! I can't wait to see him!

Well there will definitely be a PIR that date, but there seem to be so many reasons why our kids, etc won't graduate that day. They could get sick, injured, not pass swimming or running tests or maybe just need extra time to complete some phase of training. I am glad it is close enough for us to drive instead of fly in case my son's date gets changed.

Your words are wise. The only 'sure' things are 1. there will be a PIR on 4/10 for those divisions listed. 2. You are not SURE your recruit will graduate on that day until you get the 'post Battleships call of 'I am a sailor'! I have heard of parents getting that call when they are on the road on their way to GL!! I am really hesitating to buy plane tickets until at least the halfway point (after the first PT tests). Those are what my daughter worries about...(even though I know she is perfectly capable!) There is luck involved as you mention...illness, injury and other unforeseen events. They will not graduate until the Navy is sure they are ready!

Cute picture Kathy! You are right, we won't know anything for sure until right before. I guess all we can do is think positively and plan for the darn thing as if we will all be there. I am wanting to organize a meet and greet for that weekend as other PIR's have done. Let me know your thoughts.

O I am all up for a ' meet and greet.'!!! I am sure we can get some advice from lots of previous folks on here. I know by the time it gets here I will consider many of you as family! I hate to say it, but that would be my biggest disappointment if for some reason Sara didnt make the 4/10 PIR...isnt that horrible ? I guess it is because I feel close to so many of youand want to meet face to face; I know that if she didnt get it then, she would soon after....maybe I am a bad mom? lol. I am thinking positively, but I also know from living here on the Gulf Coast that everything we plan is only if the 'good Lord is willing and the creek dont rise'!
