Hi Jo, thanks for the reply. I don't want to bother him because I'm pretty sure they should be busy with the preparations. I just really have two questions that are bugging me really and I need to know because I have some legal issues that I have to take care before the deployment and I don't know if I will have enough time. If you can ask him if they have an exact date they are leaving and if the whole squadron goes at once for the deployment or some of us would stay behind and what are the odds of people that are coming to the squadron at the end of October,like myself, not going in this rotation(for me would be ideal, i really want to go but my pending situation really worries me)? That's all I need to know. I would really appreciate it.

Hi Rafael, I don't have any one left stationed here but I do live about 15 min from the base..when you get to Maine and need anything please don't hassitate to ask, My son is stationed in pensacola right now..the weather here is warm during the day and cool/cold at night, pretty time of year to becoming to Maine..

Well my sailor made it to Portland, ME not to long ago. Will be in Brunswick soon. Goodbyes are never fun. Been an emotional day. His stay in ME will be very brief. He will deploy soon. Wish he was in ME longer I understand it is beautiful there. This will be the first base he went to that we won't be able to visit. Best Wishes to all!

Hi Navy 08 Mom. I'm still trying to find the name of the phone card I bought. I've asked my son several times and he keeps forgetting to get me the information. Is your son in Maine yet?

Navy08 Mom-Sam gave me the name of the phone card to buy and I just got it on line. They didn't actually send me a card. I would buy $20 or $30 worth of minutes at a time. They gave me an access code. It took me awhile to get the hang of using it. I wasted the first $20 messing up on dialing the numbers. For the life of me, I can't remember the name, but I'll find out. It was very reasonable. I didn't get to see Sam off when he left. He's in a squadron so we don't get to see the big ship sailing off. I've seen that on t.v. It takes my breath away seeing those sailor lined up all around the ship.

Jo-I've been so busy. I got a promotion at work so I'm spending way to much time working. Then our hard drive went kaputz on our computer for awhile. You don't realize how dependent you are on it till it goes down. My whole life is in this darn thing.
Sorry to hear about your mom. What's the prognosis? How are her spirits? Are you o.k.? I'm so tired of cancer. Just about once a week I hear bad news about somebody getting it, or getting it back or dying from it. My husband goes for cat scans every three months for cat scans.Even though part of me has accepted that it's only hanging out in his blood, I always worry that it's going to take up squators rights in a vital organ, or his bones or brains. Cancer Sucks! I'll keep your mom in my prayers.

I don't send Sam's mail to an FPO address. He lives off base. He and a few of his buddy's are renting a house. Sam is deploying in December. I thought Sam and Brett were in the same squadron. I'm glad you got to see your kiddo. It give you an excuse to stock up on groceries and have an eating machine devour it all. I'm still planning on coming up in the fall. I'm still figuring out the logistics. I'll probably only be up there for a few days. I'll keep you posted.

Brett isn't leaving until late this year. (last I heard) Do you know which squadron your son will be with? Mine is in 26. The end of May is a good time to go to Maine, much better than getting there in Jan! Where is he coming from?
Same thing happened to my mom, been in remission for about the same time. It came as a surprise when it happened again, she was doing so well. Guess we never know. Maybe with both of us praying for them it wil help, couldn't hurt.
