Cindy and Sherry, I was wondering about that myself....Army has there own medics...I thought that maybe that meant Curtis would work in a clinic or something like that instead of on the front line. IDK...He said if he is not chosen for this deployment then the next time would be with Marines.

Jenne...I know you were not happy to hear that Fred will be deployed, esp. since the baby will still be little. My prayers are with you. Let me know asap how much the shipping is for the boxes so I can get that in the mail to you quick! You've been such a help....thank you!!!

Thanks!! Not sure which uniform he is bringing. Hope so. That's the discussion now.

Sherry, we will hope that it works out for your family in Sept, too. That would be so special. How long do they have to wait to put in for liberty?

I am glad he got liberty!! My oldest son is getting married in Sept. and my sailor son is going to do the honors....just hope he can get liberty also....lol

Jenne and Sherry - Just wanted to let you know that my son Devin got his Liberty chit approved for his sister's wedding! (Just in case they started pulling weekend duty). Thanks!! So 2 weeks from today he will be able to be there. He starts his FMTB the week after the wedding so right now his group is just doing odd jobs around base.

Melina - My son received orders at the end of corpsmen school that said he was assigned to 1st Battalion-Camp Pendleton. He worked hard in school so that he would be in the top 10 of his class so he would be able to choose. He got his wish so he should be staying at Pendleton. - but that certainly could change.

I had a question last week about when they were out on field but I had it answered within the day! I live in So Cal too so I will be driving up there for their graduation! =) Should be fun! Where is your son going after grad, Teresa?

Cindy - I joined this group in April when my son arrived at Pendleton. I hadn't posted a comment until Melina asked if anyone else had a son graduating on the 31st. I live in So Calif so I will be able to go to the graduation. He was able to come home for the 4th - it was great!

So, Fred found out last night that he will be deploying with a Military police Unit sometime in December or January.
