Tina, I'm so sorry to hear about your son. I hope that his hand gets better soon.
I would like to let you all know that I have a un-birthday list going on the Reagan family site that I post every Wed. I need more name to list for next week. If you would like to to add your Sailor to the list let me know.. We have a lot of families who love to send cards and all the ships with the Reagan are welcome. Please PM your names. Do not post them on here, we can't have last names and address on this page. Thank you all. Have a good day..

Tina, Sorry to hear about your son's situation. I think if I were your son i would really keep an eye on that. I always google information like that to see if his situation is normal right now and go from there. Keep us posted!!!

Hi everyone, just wanted to pass along some information. My son is on the Howard and recently i found out that while on a port stop he was swimming and was bitten by a sea urchin.I dont know much other than he was taken to the local hospital to be treated but he was send back to the ship with barbs from the sea urchin still in his hand.He went to medical on the ship and was given asprin. He is in alot of pain and his hand is purple and swollen. Two of the barbs went clear through two of his fingers.I just wanted to pass this along so that you may warn our sailors of the possible danger of being bitten by one of these fish.

Natmichbell, I 'm sorry. No, I was talking about last year's tiger cruise. As of a day ago, they still do not know if the Gridley will have a tiger cruise this deployment. Don't give up hope, though. Things can develop very quickly.

carlav? your son emailed you the required forms for this deployments tiger cruise?
Carla V. Comment by Carla V. on August 13, 2009 at 12:47am
randy, we just received an e-mail last night from our son on the Gridley and he mentioned that they still do not know if there will be a tiger cruise for them this time. We did go on the one last year. Our son e-mailed all the required forms that we then had to complete and fax back before we could be approved. They then sent us the info about where and when, but the dates did shift slightly. We met the ship in Hawaii and were on board for seven nights. We are so very appreciative to have had such a grand experience.

I just put the following from the CO Moms group in "My Sailor is" discussion area:
Since Priority Mail service supplies are the packaging of choice for families preparing care packages for service members overseas, the USPS has create a "Mili-kit" based on the items most frequently requested by the military. The kit contains:
*Three (3) each of flat rate boxes O-FRB1 and O-FRB2
*Two (2) each of cube boxes OBOX7
*Address labels - label #228 8 each
*Address labels - label #106-A 1 each
*Customs FORM 2976-A 8 each
*Customs FORM 2976-E 8 each

The kit may be requested by calling 1-800-610-8734 (Packing Supply) and:

*Choose your language (1 is English, 2 is Spanish)
*Choose option 1 (it states it is for Express Mail Service, Priority Mail. or Global Express
Guaranteed)
*When you reach a live agent request CAREKIT04
*Please allow 7-10 days for delivery

****Note: These are free supplies, postage must be affixed before shipping.

**Additionally, you can find guidelines for packing, addressing, & shipping items to U.S. troops at
