OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

This is a group for Christian moms to make new friends, pray for one another, and share about our lives and faith. We are non-denominational, and our only request is that you are a follower of Christ and believe that the Bible is the Word of God.

Some of our sailors are currently serving; some of us have sailors who are now veterans.  Some of our sailors were born to us; some of us have sailors whom we have chosen to love and help raise. Whatever your situation, you are welcome here.

Amen. The Psalms are so comforting...

I love that Psalm, Jesusintheboat.  Thanks for posting!   May we bring glory to God today in our thoughts, words, & deeds.  May we also continue to lift our recruits in prayer, trusting them to our sovereign God!!!

Whom have I in heaven but You?  and there is none upon earth that I desire beside You.   My flesh and my heart fails: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.   Psalm 73:       Hugs to all

Andrea that is great to hear. Nothing like hearing from our sailors such a relief.  Thank you Lord for that.

NavyArmyMarineMom,

Glad you have made it to Colorado! The Lord will make sure that everything falls into place -- like He always does!

Prayers for protection of your Sailor son!!

Your Marine son is so handsome.....

Thank you all for the prayers!  Please keep my Sailor Son lifted up as he is back on the road today, driving a uhaul, and dealing with the wind/rain from the storm that hit the Gulf earlier.

As for me and my moving ... I had read a Navy SEAL's book on raising men last year ... and, as I prayed for wisdom about my situation re my car and need to get to CO, I recalled the advice the author gave from a training exercise designed to test, they thought, their courage, but it was to test their wisdom.  The takeaway was not move from safety into danger unless absolutely necessary.  I prayed about this thought and asked the Lord for confirmation ... and searched Proverbs and found 1:17 "If a bird sees a trap being set, it knows to stay away" and 2:11-12

Wise choices will watch over you.
Understanding will keep you safe.

Wisdom will save you from evil people,
from those whose words are twisted.

So... I looked at what has already been provided and what is safe ... and I left for and arrived in CO last night in the already paid for uhaul.

I'm reading Joyce Meyer's book "You Can Begin Again"... the takeaway of the chapter I read this morning is:  "Seek God for today's strategy. He has a new plan for your life."

Now I'm working on today's issues: like, unloading the uhual before I start work at 2!  Getting a rental car to scoot around in for now.  I was up till midnight working on getting a secure a place to stay until Sunday.  God's got this as I declare myself an official resident of CO as of today!

...

And, on a "yesterday" note (which I won't be spending much time on).  The Lord has shown me His Name "Jehovah Shammah" which means "the Lord who goes before you".  I was angry about the fact that my Marine was buried in the cemetery of his stepmom's family plot/area.  But then, I found out that a dear teacher friend of mine is on a caretaking board of that cemetery, as she is from that town and a historian there.  Several years ago I had helped this friend move from the town we taught in to the town I just left, which is near to but not the same as the little town where my Son is buried.  Jehovah Shammah knew then that I would need someone to watch "out" "over" and "for" my Son's grave in that cemetery!  She is going to keep vigil for me and sent me a picture yesterday of his gravestone, as I had not been able to bring myself to go back out to his grave since Easter, and hadn't seen it.  I said my final "goodbye" on Easter Sunday at sunrise where I took communion and praised the Lord that I will see my beloved Son once again because of the cross!  My friend will place flowers for me as I ask of her.  God went before me then.  He is going before me now as I put into action the words of the song playing in my truck as I left my Son's cemetery "Yesterday's a closing door, you don't live there anymore ... tell your heart to beat again".
