Wendy - I hope it's okay, but I included the email you posted along with the additional information from the conversation I had with Ltjg Page today. I would like to work with you on this but I don't want to step on your toes. I had contacted Lt Hadley before I realized you had already started the ball rolling. It is always so wonderful when anyone can step in and get us moving in a great direction. It is so cool that you were willing to do that. Let me know if we can get together and put a plan together.

Hi Ladies! Happy to say that yesterday I got the official "I'm a sailor" call after battle stations. Now just one week till PIR. I'm glad weather.com says it'll be nicer weather next weekend. Weird to see it raining on top of snow!

Hi Ladies! I spoke to my son this morning. He is doing well @ BESS. When he finishes BESS he will have basic mechanics school and then A school. He wasn't sure if he would have C school or not.

They were told this week (don't remember if it was today or not) that anyone who did not have orders by now will be @ Groton until 10/1 due to budget cuts. He was a bit disheartened, but over all really happy. Their barracks did really well on their inspection this week and he sounded very proud of that. I knew deep down inside of him he knew how to keep a neat room - just took the Navy to get it done! Ha!

It is snowing hard her in Metro Denver (for those on the WS) and it is supposed to keep up thru noon tomorrow. I am in hibernation! Have a great weekend all!

Glad to hear you are on the mend JoJo!

I have beenin touch with Lt. Handley and they are going to let me know what activites are going to be happening during Navy week and they will let us know where they need volunteers. He did inform me about a walk/run sceduled on the 9th of May sponsored by parent pathways.

Please see his e-mail below:

Hello. My name is Tim Page. I am the Action Officer for the Denver Navy

Hi Ladies i am back again after having Chance and his wife home on leave. Talk about a house full. Garth my husband took 2 weeks off work so did 3 of my other boys, and they all stayed here, it was a crazy house, but so much fun. It was great to watch them all together again, my house seemed way to small as all those little boys are now way over 6ft tall. Now my house is so quiet, so i have been trying to keep myself busy so i dont notice it so much.
Chance started his Power School in Goose Creek yesterday, they had a meeting and were told you thought A school was hard that is nothing compared to power school. It was great to just sit and listen to him when he was home, that cockey know it all that left here last Sept is so grown up and responsible, looking ahead and planning his future. I did not realise how much i really missed him till i saw him in the airport the day we picked them up, he was in his uniform as he thought they would be coming to the WS gathering, so he dressed up for you ladies, it was such a shame that didnt work out.
Hope this letter finds eveyone well. Thanks for being there. Chance got on this site with me several times while he was home, and said to tell you Thanks for being there for my Mom. Take Care Judi Y

Oh Ladies have I missed each and everyone of you. I just spent about 30 minutes trying to catch up on what I have missed the last 3 weeks or so. I did pop in and check a few times, but only had a few moments here and there.

JoJo - you have been in my prayers and I am so happy that your surgery went well.

Vickey - Hurray for Robert, I am so glad that you persevered with him and that he is now seeing his dreams come true. When he gets to Charleston for Nuke school let me know and we'll see if we can connect he and Mike.

Welcome to all the new moms I haven't met yet, hopefully I can get to know you at a gathering soon.

Wendy Joe's Mom - Thank you for contacting Lt. Hadley. I also sent an email (before I caught up here) and hope to hear back soon. I did tell him there were many of us who wanted to be actively involved, so we'll see what happens.

I also plan to go into the Arvada office on Saturday morning and see if I can corner the recruiters and get any details on what they are going to have the DEPpers doing.

Kathy - have you heard anything from Dan? Do you want me to contact him about Cinco de Mayo or should we just work with Lt. Hadley?

My world had turned back right side up and I am excited to be back here with all of my friends. I do want to ask for prayers for Mike my Nuke, he is applying for the Seaman to Admiral program and there is so much he needs to do for his application. Add to that he has now moved rooms for the 2nd time in a month and has started Indoc for Power School and we have one busy Sailor. He isn't complaining at all, but I just want him to be able to balance everything and continue moving forward.

I miss all of you and it must be time to have another get together. I guess I'll wait to see what is needed for Navy week and then we can all come up with a plan - a park and a BBQ maybe?

Love to all of you wonderful Moms and Dads..... :>)

Hi all,

My son is on the John C Stennis, and is deployed. We live in Pueblo, and am wondering how many Southern Coloradoans are on here?

Thanks,
Carrie
