Hi Holly ~ I hope Mark's staying warm. My son was so happy to get out when he did. He graduated from a school 12/12. How is your daughter doing having little contact with him? I, do believe, that is the hardest for us on the outside of bc to go through. Things after that are easier. I bet she's getting really excited about seeing him again. Good luck to Mark. He'll have a lot crammed down his throat when he classes up but if he studies, he'll do fine. Tell him 'thank you' from the mom of a Navy Corpsman (who is now in sunny San Diego waiting to class up for FMTB). What a change...from snow to sun and beaches!

Hi Cindy - Thanks! I think he's adjusting to the cold now! Becca is doing pretty well with the situation...fortunately they have both been writing as often as possible and long letters and she got one phone call. We are going to PIR that is on 1/23 and she can't wait to see him! We hope that after A school in GL he ends up in San Diego too...that's nice and close for us in Phoenix!

Welcome Holly! My son is classing up to his corpsman A-school tomorrow, he had PIR on 12/24. He's a Florida boy so he knows how Mark is feeling! Aside from the cold, he's used to sunshine and there's not too much of that there either! Although he called today to say it was sunny and he was sitting close to a window to catch some of it! LOL This is a really great site for info and support, please talk your daughter into joining if she hasn't already!

Welcome Holly. My son had his PIR on 1-2-09 and is starting classes tomorrow for hospital corpsman. He is so ready to start classes. We are from Illinois so he is used to the weather although it is colder and they have more snow up there. Good luck to him and your daughter. My son's girlfriend is adjusting to this new way of life also, but at least now in A-School they can talk back and forth. Enjoy PIR if you are attending. It is an awesome experience. Good luck to all of you!

Welcome Holly.. My son Jeremy is in the Med Corpsmen program, he classed up Jan 5th and is loving what he is doing. Has taken 1 test and did very well and test number 2 tomarrow. They need to study, study, study because what they do after A school depends alot on GPA and what is avalible when they graduate school. Jeremy is hoping to go to C school or to go to a hospital and work till he can continue with his education. What does Mark want to do after A school???
