OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hmm, I was sure I saw a question from here about graduation gift ideas. Don't see it now, but we got our son a nice watch for his gift, then a laptop after he got settled at Corry Station.

I just had to re-join Navy for Moms and try to find my groups. Aaarrrggghhhh!!! All my content, pictures, everything - GONE. I post on one group or another at least weekly. In what universe does that qualify as inactive?

I had created a private group which I now cannot access! Not sure if my friends there will be able to "invite" me to join my group again.

When I joined Navy for Moms (the first time!) there were about 2,000 members. Yes, it was MANY years ago.

Sorry, proudmom, I gave you bad advice ten days ago when I said you should be good since you had just commented.

I apologize for the rant, but I really am furious about this. If my experience helps anyone here avoid the same thing, that's great, but I'm really not sure what anyone can do to prevent it.

SR Grandma-  We used Montway Auto Transport and had no problems.  A few other that I know used them too.

I also received an email from newnavymom1994. I cannot find it here. If she is reading this please contact your son's command.

My sailor needs to ship his vehicle out of state to Ft. Gordon, GA. Does anyone know of a reputable company to use? Any suggestions?

Posting to keep this group active...
“Deleting inactive members - The ad agency that handles N4M is in the process of updating the site. If you have not been active since 12/1/15 you will be deleted to make room for new members. You will be able to re-join. If you don't want to be deleted you will need to post something in any one of your groups to activate your account. They have already started deleting members.”

So I'm checking in after being off grid for a bit. What's this all about deleting members?
