While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

fussysteph, Think of the Navy as if it were an airlines. They always overbook the slots. Just in case some one gets sick or for whatever reason they can't start the class. So from time to time things get backed up ,and just like that air plane seat, people get bumped.

Wow Sue S. I like the pictures of the beach. I wished I would have had a chance to go and see my son when he was down there. That was over a year ago. It looks refreshing. My son loved it down there too. I had never seen him so tanned in my life. He is such a pale person. Thanks for the pictures. Plus I have not been on this site for a while so I just wanted to say hello.

If anyone has any doubts about how important CT's are to the Navy, all you needed to do is listen to the speech Pres. Obama gave this morning. Most of the speech was about computer network security in the civilian sector. All of what he spoke about is the reponsibility of the CT's for the Navy. Esp. the CTN's, I know next to nothing about the other CT's. Our kids have a very bright future both in and out of the Navy.

fussysteph, Is that thing he is playing on line by any chance, World of Warcraft? If so he will fit right in with the CTN's and might even be playing against them already. If he is going to be in DEP that long he might want to take a computer class at the local community college or online.. Just to keep him sharp.

Jodster68, Click on the Discussion Forun View All. There is a complete list and definition of all the CT rates. Good luck understand all that stuff, but its all there. There is one other thing that you all might like to know. That is that CT's have the fastest advancement track in the Navy followed by the Nukes. They make Chief years ahead of the rest of the Navy.

CTN's are the smallest group of the CT rate, so their classes are kind of small.

Some one asked about class sizes. My son's class was 7 sailors or which 5 graduated. Hope this helps.

Brandi, our son left for Hawaii at the end of February. He got all the info he needed from Corry. Of course, he is single. He drove to New Orleans and had his car shipped. He arranged for the movers to come and pack up what he wanted to take from here in Pennsylvania. He lives in the barracks. Feel free to send me a private message with any questions you have and I will try to answer. It took about a month for his car to get to Hawaii and about a month for his possessions to arrive. Your husband should also have a sponsor in Hawaii that can answer any questions or let him know where to go to get the answers.
