Steph, I can't imagine how hard that phone call was. There was a reason he was chosen to be Yeoman and that's the same reason he will be fine.

Steph-
your son is doing the right thing and he'll be respected in the long run for it. My heart bleeds for you right now as you can't be with him and console him. Thinking of you and Hunter and keeping both you in my prayers this holiday season! xoxo

Be strong and tell Hunter to keep his chin up! It is a very hard process but he will be so strong when he gets through it! Keep sending him your love!!

Hi ladies- I spoke with Hunter again this morning. He was in tears. He said that he unleashed on a couple of the recruits yesterday because they are not doing what they are supposed to. Because he is the Yoeman, he is the one who gets in trouble for his whole group by the RDC...I told him to be strong. When we hung up, I cried. I couldnt handle hearing his pain.

Hi Steph- my son was at bc over the holidays last year...pretty rough time for our family but we really hung together and got through it. I know what you mean about not washing those clothes...I would go in and smell them daily. I didn't wash his sheets for awhile after he left also. My husband thought I was nuts! Hang in there!

Jill, enjoy your time with your son!

Steph, I totally understand. It was MONTHS before I washed my son's clothes, those in the box and those left behind. I had several of those "extra" phone calls regarding his security clearance. I always managed to get a few questions and answers in while I was gathering the information. Don't worry, he will be fine and this time will pass quickly. Tough time of year to be in Great Lakes. Feel free to send me a pm if you'd like.

Steph, every mom I know left their sailor's things just as they came back. I know I didnt do anything with it (except to read over her papers showing her ASVAB scores and things which I found interesting)I put the box in 'her' room until she was in A school and I had seen her in person at her PIR. Then it was a little easier to remove the items and put them in their place...not silly at ALL and you should not do anything until you know you are ready.

He called Monday for more info to process his security clearance... so nice to here his voice. I havent yet had the heart to wash the clothes that came home in the "box" They smell like him..... I kinda want to leave it that way for a while. I hope you all are doing well....
