Jennifer,
Good suggesstion about flu shot. I was reading that one of the Mom's is reporting that the flu has spread flu the divisions at BC. Got my Vit C today and will check into the flu shot.

Want an in-depth look at battlestations?
Watch these videos LINK

Also pick up the December issue of Popular Mechanics. It has an excellent detail of the events from a reporter who actually went through Battlestations with a graduating division. GREAT READ!

Getting a Flu shot isn't a bad idea...my oldest was sick from alomost the day he got there until PIR...he had to get a Z-Pack ac ouple of weeks in and was on light duty for a few days.

Hugs to all the Depper moms who sent sons\daughters to BC this week...remember that we are all here for you.

Angie good point about being set back...maybe Justin will change his mind if I mention this to him.

Another thought...what about getting them a flu shot before going. I am getting Justin's next week as it takes 2 weeks for the immunity to build up. I figured that he could use a little help and as a nurse this is the least I could do. Oh yeah and buy a big bottle of vitamin C.

I wouldn't wait until bootcamp because if there happens to be any probelms they can be set back a week or more...which translates into more time in bc and possible going in to a different division than what they start in. Food for thought.

Donna,
Funny you should mention the Vit C, I was just thinking of that the other day. Great tip..

Another little inside note for our guys that are going into BC during flu season. Get you recuit to take vitamins to billed up their immune system. When one gets sick in a division they all get it. The stronger your child is the better chance they won't get sick. They all live so close for 8 to 9 weeks they just pass everything around. Never hurts to push the Vit C before hand. They can't take anything with them. But they can take it before. Sorry I think of the strangest things.

I had no idea they pulled them out, I'll have to check with Kyle and see what he wants to do. Ouch!
