Received THE dvd came yesterday. Haven't haad a chance to look at it, got home too late. Will watch tonight. Will be showing on thanksgiving, I am sure I am driving everyone nuts in the family but oh well, Got a call from Rob last night and he may be home for Thanksgiving, will know more tomorrow.

Hi all, everything is going well here in Michigan , it is snowing and cold. robert is doing well in Groton, Ct. he has BESS graduation on Dec 5th then has 2 more schools in Groton and then to Kings Bay, GA. for his MT training before he is assigned to a sub. So he should get his boat by Feb 2010. That ok at least he will be in the states and we can see.
Is everyone ready for the holidays? We hope that Rob will be able to get home then. Jsut wishing and hoping.

Looks like I will be doing this again next summer! One of the 18 yr old just graduated Army 10-10 and now the other 18 yr old is talking Navy in June. So I will have 3 Navy and 1 Army... WOW!! At least I'll be an expert at this PIR by next summer! laura

PIR was amazing. I was lucky enough to be not far from the magical roll up doors and I had arrived very very early so I was in the bottom 2nd row as far to the left as the bleacher would allow. Thanks so much other moms who had given so many helpfull hints it all came in handy. I have video and pics more video than pics though I have to admit. Will be posting it all as I get a chance. My son was nice enough to share the Creepy BC Crud germs with me so I arrived home with the whole swollen throught fever chills LOL so I am moving around a lottle slow. I had 4 amazing days and spent some time with other sailors as well.My son shipped out to A school Tuesday AM at 0100 and called from Ohare at 0400 and then again from Pensacola Airport at 1000 hrs and then again last night at 2100 Today is his birthday and I am so hoping I can get a call from him. First birthday I have not been with him and I have no address or anything to send him birthday card to yet. I will post all Pics and video ASAP as I said. Enjoyed meeting other Moms and family and couldnt help spreading the news of this wonderful sight to all moms I met thet had not been as fortunate as us to have already found it. I am so proud of all our families that made it through or even tried BC that words can not relay the emotions I want to thank each and everyone of your recruites for standing with my son and serving and thank each of you moms for razing such remarkable unselfish kids to want to stand and serve in the US NAVY!

My son is staying in the GL area for 14 months and so we were thinking about going there for Thanksgiving as I don't think he can come home. Anyone know of a great restaurant in the area that will be serving Thanksgiving?

wow is right the graduation was great and im extremly proud of all the sailors so proud i cryed like a baby well,im still here in gl my sailor graduated also they are holding him until they give him his orders he got accepted do do cerimonial gaurd he doesnt want me to go home he has liberty on the weekend and to tell you the truth i dont want to leave either we are getting married!!!!yey im not a mom im his fiance he asked me

Hello everyone, I just got home. So tired but, worth it. The PIR was so amazing I have no words i am seriously speechless. The feelings I am feeling then and right now I have never felt in my life. My time with my son Adam was comforting and amazing I got four days with my baby. I am so proud it hurts. It hurt to say goodbye I had to keep touching his face and kissing his cheek knowing I won't have another opportunity for a couple of months. He will be leaving for Pensecola in a few days.

Did anyone notice the girl that fell out in formation during the ceremony? I won't put her name out of respect for her, but her father was sitting with us and she is ok. She was tired, hot and overwhelmed. They tell them to drop to their knees so they don't fall on their face and break bones. But she's fine now.
