Hello everyone. Haven't been on here much in the past several months. Today marks one year since Brandon left for BC. I think back at everything he has accompolished in the year and am so proud of where he is today. He will graduate Power School in November and is still close enough by that we get to see him often. Congratulations to Andrew on his marriage. Hope all is well with everyone.

Hello friends. Stopped in to find out how everyones sailors are doing.

It is not lost on all of you I am sure that we are quickly approaching the anniversary date of shipping our boys off a year ago to Great Lakes. I have been away from this website for awhile but over the weekend I went back and read from the beginning our discussions in here. I laughed and cried as I relived the memories of bootcamp. I hate now that I deleted some of my posts one night because I read somewhere else on the site that the RDC's were reading what some of the mom's were writing on the website. ha ha After graduation I learned our boys had some pretty laid back RDC's.

I'm sure you all feel the same as I do when I say, wow what a difference a year makes. When Andrew arrived in Georgia, he met a fellow Navy gal going through Marine training with him. They have been inseperable since. We met her over spring break when we went down, and again in July when they came home for his best friends wedding. Andrew proposed to her in August and Dave and I just returned from their simple wedding ceremony held over Labor Day weekend. It was simple and lovely. We are proud of his choice in a wife and proud that two people our wearing our last name in the Navy.

Want to hear where the rest of our boys are. I hope Juston and Walter still are not down there in Pensecola. ha ha Want to know how you mommas are.

Denise, that is one long drive from here to the bottom of your great state! Ugh

Anybody there? :)

How's everyone doing?

Juston is probably going to be done with school June 27. He's going to be in Washington (state). Yeah!

Somebody say something, please! Anything! :0

Aw, Denise! I'm sorry about the job loss! Your faithful attitude is an inspiration to all of us. I will pray that God will show you His next plan for you.

On a lighter side--Juston has a girlfriend. Funny story. He was at the beach and met a girl while she was on Spring Break. He pretended to be from Australia the few days he saw her. When it was time for her to go back to Auburn University in Alabama, he confessed he's no Australian--but she was okay with that! :) Ever since then, they've done something together almost every weekend! (sorority ball, Braves game, music festival....) She seems to be a real sweetheart. What I DO know of her, I like already.

Hopefully, all of you gals will check in periodically. You know you can set your account so that you get an e-mail notice when one of us makes a comment? That's how I knew right away that Denise wrote a comment.

Denise, you take care of yourself!!!!!!!!

Oh how I miss chatting with all of you. I hope and pray that all is well with sailors as well as the rest of your families! Please check in every now and again...I miss all y'all. Quick update...Walter is STILL waiting to class up but doing well and seems pretty content. Not only am I STILL out of work with my back, I no longer have a job to go back to. I got my pink slip in the mail last weekend. Suprisingly I'm not upset about it...actually have a sense of relief. Don't really know what I'm gonna be the next time I grow up! LOL The one sure thing...God has NEVER EVER let failed me and I don't expect Him to now...looking forward to what He has in store for me in the future. Hugs and Kisses...God Bless...Denise

Well, how nice to see some of the group still here! Sorry I haven't checked in in awhile. We went thru some tough times & phone calls with Jake while he was waiting for A school to start. He wanted OUT. Denise knows how frantic I was!! That has passed thank the Lord. Jake finally got thru A school for ABH & finished 2/28. He came home for a week for a visit (we didn't see him as much as his friends did). The main trauma of the visit was a break up with the girlfriend but he seems to be handling it OK. Of course they are still texting & talking! He got his orders for his first duty station - the George H W Bush in Norfolk. We were hoping for San Diego but it didn't happen. It certainly would have been cheaper in airfare! We live about 3 hours north of San Diego. Congrats Denise on being a Grandma!
Hugs,
Jodi

Wow, Denise! Congratulations! I'm looking forward to the grandma phase--AFTER the kids are married, preferably!

Frustrating how the guys are just twiddling their thumbs! Juston has a job, now, as a "driver" (I like to call him "The Transporter")--takes people places: hospital, airport....He actually gets to meet and schmooze with some of the big-wigs! It's up his alley--such a people-person. He really enjoys it!

Sunday was his birthday--the big 2-2. He was a bit older than most of the recruits were. I do cakes, so I really wanted to mail a decorated birthday cake to him. I came up with a way that worked!! I'm considering working it into a mail-order business. We'll see! :)

Denise, I'm sorry your healing is slower than expected. Don't know if you've heard of MonaVie, but you might look into saturating your body with that wonderful juice with awesome antioxidants/anti-inflammatories. If you want to know more, just let me know.

Well, I need to get going. My mother-in-law is getting weaker by the day (cancer returned). I don't think she has a whole lot of time left. We just worked her into full-time caregiving--at her house, thankfully. She lives about 20 minutes away. I try to get up there a couple of times a week.

Hope all of you have a great day!

I have a solution for those gals who are not checking in: they need to click "Follow Group" so they can receive e-mails when one of us comments! Works for me! ---Elaine
