For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Sending 2 off to Basic in less than 3 weeks between them
So my son left this last Monday for Marine Boot Camp and now my daughter's ship date for Navy Basic has been moved from June 2014 to this November 5. Guess I will get it over all at once. Holidays will not be fun, not sure how to act with no kids at home for this time of year.

I know it won't be easy but we all here on NavyMoms are here for you if you ever need to chat. When my son came home from A school I couldn't believe how much he had grown and so will both of your kids too. Write a lot of letters too both of them it keeps them going. :) -

My first went to BC also Nov 4th last year. At Great Lakes the recruits get adopted by local churches and they get the opportunity to Skype home. So you might want to invite family and friends, maybe your recruits friends to be present for skyping.

k10mom - WOW! 2 kids in the military - how proud you must be. Enjoy the next week and a half with your daughter - make lots of memories. Come here often for support - you know we are all here for you. I believe CoTwin has a group that is for multiples in the military. You should join that group if you haven't already!

One of my twin sons left Sept. 19th for RTC and will graduate on 11/21/14. The other twin leaves on Dec. 9 for RTC. Their older sister lives in South Africa so it will be Christmas without my kids. I have other family in town but it is going to be really weird.
Where is this CoTwin group that is mentioned in the replies below?

Welcome Betsy! I'm glad you found us....that's awesome that you will have 2 Navy boys. Wow and your daughter in So. Africa - that's a long ways from home. Jump right in on the main page for this group....there's a handful of us that usually post every day or so....we just try to keep each other's spirits up ;-) Feel free to ask any questions you might have. Hopefully you are in the boot camp group, the PIR group for your SR and the DEP group for your son that is leaving soon!
Co-Twin does have a group for Multiples & Twins - I'm not sure what the link is. Hopefully she will see this & post it for you, or you can go to her page and find the link there. She just started back to school so she is busy during the day, but she still checks in!

I've been on many message boards before so I'm familiar with how they work. I am self-employed so will try and check in daily. Yes, I've joined the other groups. There are so many that it gets a little bit crazy keeping up. I'm just so thankful to have found this site! I didn't find it until about a week ago and it has been so valuable with all the tips, how to's, etc.!
