swazil- Sean graduated 8040N and graduated about the same time... Where is Scott? Time sure is slipping...that is for sure. We talk via web cam...and I cant wait to go!!! I am trying so hard for Oct.

how long has your son been an EOD? Scott just graduated 2 yrs ago. Can't believe it's been that long........ I think. I'm going to have to ask him exactly when he graduated. Time just slips away. He's taking his first advancement test for EODs in Sept.

My son got first choice, depends on EOD needs...he got Italy first time out of the gate...attatched to dive unit. Spain next then who knows...my ex got what we asked for...Charleston, SC, then Eglin, teaching at EOD school....

sometimes they get to choose from what is available. If I remember correctly, Guam is what was left for him..........And as far as when and where they go, it all depends on the activities and where they are needed. My son went to North and South Vietnam last year looking for MIAs. He went as the bomb person. He went there before he went to Iraq. He just got back to Guam from helping to train the Japanese Navy for a few weeks. Unfortunately, where they were in Japan, there was nothing to see except the sea. He did get to play some golf, but didn't get to experience much of the Japanese culture or see any of their historical monuments or temples. He did get to see the famous statue at IWO Jima and the site of the ship where it sunk. He did get to see a lot of the countries in Asia and Dubai and Thailand when he served on a destroyer and that was before EOD school. I hope this helps.

do the guys get to choose where the are stationed or is it picked for them? and do they move around a lot?
one more question..how often do they go overseas and for how long?

MY son just got back in May from is 4th tour in the middle east. He loves his job he is a senior eod tech..He as renlisted once.. He is still trying to make his mind up about the second time...

my son just got back to the states from serving in Iraq. I am really proud of him and he is enjoying EOD work. Here's to all EOD techs, moms, and families!!!
