Jeanette, my son finished A school about a month ago. He has orders but he does not report to C school until Jan 17. He called this morning...he had to muster at 0700 and was released to liberty at 0720! Long workday!! Ha Ha

Tiffany, which rates are you looking at for yourself? You don't want to be in the very same one, that gets problematic down the line. I know this from personal experience.

Tiffany, there's no way to really predict on c-schools; just too many variables. For FCs, c-schools can be as short as a few weeks to as long as 9 months, just depends on the system. And it all depends on what slots the Navy needs to fill after A-school is completed.

I have a son who is an ET about ready to finish his A school in GL - anyone else out there with a son or daughter still in GL finishing teir A school. He hasn't recv'd his orders for C school yet and so we are in a wanting game. Would love to know where he is going...

I've been told that C schools for FCs range from 4-8 months

Nancy, how long are C schools usually (not even thinking about wait times) for FC? My husband is in Great Lakes and just got into his permanent ship out of INDOC and I'm looking to go into the Navy and I am trying to find a 'perfect' time to go in...not even thinking about the DEP though.

Millye where is Palistine? I'm in Central TX in the Hill Country.
Millye Comment by Millye on October 16, 2009 at 7:31am
We're fine here, Carol....we just stayed on top of our hill for a while...lucky that's where our house is! Quite a few roads were flooded tho. Over 5 inches of rain in one afternoon after it raining all week long previously. Our water table should be in a lot better shape now! There has only been 2 days in Oct. so far that it has not rained some here!

My son is an ET. He has C schools scheduled for both Norfolk and Dam Neck and his orders are for Whidbey Island, WA. I don't think it matters.
