Julie, some of my church friends moved here from Iowa but lost family and homes with the last horrific tornado that hit Iowa. Ya'll have hard a terrible time with it, I do pray that it lets up soon so you can start that rebuild. We lived in California for the last horrible earthquake and I know what you mean about the depression - it really is difficult to live in the middle of such a crisis and LynnDear I can only imagine being in LA for what that fine state has tried to endear. The weather is just so out of control anymore - please stay safe there Julie.

We will hope that you can make it to Kyle's graduation for many reasons that include the roadways have gotten better.

I thought they got to come home for two weeks after A school??? Is he going right to VA?

CCR - Nick is on those last mods too - he has 3 left so he is not sure what day it will be but expects he will be finished and off to A school one day next week. I just gotta believe that they are sitting in class together!

Our drought situation has been going on for ever - I'm not going to have any grass left and I have been going heavy into cactus type plants/flowers - I got to have my flowers! But Julie, please share some of that rain!

Oh my Jackie, it is such a small world. My memory is fading now but I believe Steve was stationed there for C school 83-84 ish and was single so he lived in the barracks. But they he returned there in 88 and taught the FC program until 92. We never lived on base with any of his assignments. We lived on Redwood Parkway if you remember the area.

I bet John is growling about his records and phase 1 all over again. Hopefully he can get it straighten up quickly.

Mary, that the new program I was talking about that was so confusing to me. Patrick's been doing fine, but he says the last mods before A school have been a little "tricky" for him, so he's had to really focus. He thinks he'll be in A school next week. Is that about when Nick goes? Who's sons/daughters are on the Mustin besides Marsher and Julie? BTW, I'm sure Julie will be happy to give you some water.... Millye, do you remember what year it was we had a drought here in East Tx? Was it 1999 or 2000?

A $200 water bill CCR? I almost wish I would have one, we have been under level 4 drought conditions for a year plus now. Not allowed to water anything, wash the cars, etc. They were not even going to allow folks to put water in their swimming pools but they have gave in on that situation.

Julie, those are great orders! My husband who was an FC did C school in Dam Neck but he also did another C school in Mare Island. He was top of his class and picked Japan for sea duty and I got to spend 5 years there with him and it is a wonderful duty station. Nick was actually born there and is hoping for orders to Japan as well when his time comes. There is a Japan Moms group set up that you should join and if I can answer any questions let me know. We still have friends there - they actually retired from the Navy and stayed in Japan and are working on the base in government positions.

Do you know what ship he is getting?

So hoping the weather improves for you folks soon!

So our son just called and is enjoying his weekend off - which makes me happy. I think he needed a break from classes and duty.

He has 3 more mods to complete in ATT which will be done this week and he believe he will head immediately into A school. He said they are handling it differently now. They are only doing
2-1/2 weeks of ATT, going to A school and then going back to finish ATT - they do not become FCs until they finish the last segment of ATT. He thinks this formula just started with the class that he is in. But it was done to improve the failure rate of the program.

He said because it is self-pace new students are coming into the class each day so those that are finishing SCC don't have to wait for a new class to begin.

Asked him about air conditioning and he said they recently turned it on but it's not that great but they do have air.

Also said that the female Sailors in his ship have all been moved out of his ship into another ship. Apparently there were 50 females but there floor(s) held a 120 Sailors so they had alot of wasted space that they couldn't use so they consolidated them into another ship.

He's at the waterpark this weekend working on this tan...inbetween the rain showers. I think it can pour on him this weekend and he's just happy to have a full day off and away from the base.

Wow, I didn't realize LLD would keep him from that.

Nick was in division 161 so even though they landed at bc the same day, I think you PIR=ed the week before us. Ours was 4/25 but the problem was at processing Nick could force himself to pee in the cup so he did not get assigned a division until that was completed. So you are a week ahead of us Jackie.

Marsher and Julie: I found out today Patrick is on the Mustin too. now I know! LOL. He said they have girls there. The Wisconsin is all boys. They call it the Whisky. Peg - I know what you mean about multi-tasking. Lynn started a forum about AAADA. Yesterday I went out to let my colt out of the round pen. He gets put up at night cuz he tries to get through the fence to the girls and he needs another month before he can be "cut". So I turn on the water to the trough, realize there are wasps in the tack room, go back to the house to get wasp spray, look for it for 1/2 an hr., can't find it, realize I need to transplant stuff in the front. I have to relocate the kittens, then I'm gettin dizzy so I need to eat. While in, I get on NFM's and my e-mail. Find out I've been volunteered to organize my dad's 85th B-day party cuz I'm the one not working (RFLMAO), have to start making World War II music CD's and I have to mop up the water from the refrigerator leaking. My peachtree needed sprayed and then the mail came. The barn swallows make poo poo all over the car port so I'm using a putty knife YUK. Forgot the mail, its now all muddy, and I had to go to the bathroom. The air conditioning felt so good I stayed in. Found the water on going full blast this morning and it filled up the creek. I should have a nice $200.00 Water Bill.
