Hi Mary Ellen, I've been on the "travels" site already. I just wanted to keep on both in case someone else by chance decided to check it. Yeah, Chris is doing okay. He was awarded Athletic Petty Officer as well last week because he scored a 98 on his test and was #1 test two weeks in a row. He also tested for SARC (special amphibious recon corpsman) but was able to do all the physical fitness stuff except his final run...he missed it by 45 seconds. He was bummed but they want him back again this week to try again. He hasn't done much PT since he started Corpsman school. He actually misses "getting beat" he said. I don't think that we will ever be empty nesters. My daughter and son-in-law live with us, as well as our two grandkids, Jordan and Jessica. We have had them with us since they were born and I can say that I wouldn't have changed it. Glad to hear your boys are doing well. I'll keep tabs on Travels also. Have a great week. Hi Ruth! My oldest son Andy, PIRd 2/6/09 and is at Goose Creek for Nuke A school. My youngest son is in boot camp and PIRs June 5th. He heads out for Goose Creek as well. My husband and I are empty nesters now and it's strange to come home to a quiet house! Boys are doing well tho! Glad to hear all is well with your "old man" too!

So where is everyone's son or daughter at now? It's been almost 3 months since PIR, and there should be some changes in locations/schools. My son Christopher, known as the "old man" at boot camp. He was in the USS Enterprise. He was dropped from EOD because he couldn't hold his breath long enough under the water and is now in Hospital Corpsman School at GL. He is number 2 in the class grade point wise and just made an EPO (Education Petty Officer who tutors those that are having problems passing the tests.) So drop a note on this forum as to where your Sailor is.

Diane - You probably did hear them say Mustard. They have to go to Muster but when some of them talk about it in the past tense they say "When we mustered last night it took forever to get released for TAPS."

Diane...glad Rusty was able to start class. I heard from Jordan that being on hold (lots of guys down in FL have been on hold for months) is a real bummer. Hope all works out for him!

Hi Kim! Sorry it's Muster.. I swear it sounded like he was saying "Mustard" lol.. Sorry to hear about Donnie. I hope all ends well with him. Fight fight fight!

Erin! Hi there.. Rusty is doing well. He started one of his classes so he is a happy camper again. Happy for him! Glad Jordan is doing well and not getting the same stumbling blocks some of the others have had to deal with! We are headed up soon to see him! Yay! Take care and stay in touch!

Diane----- I sat next to you at the PIR.. I live in SD.. My stomach is a bundle of nerves.. My son is trying to fight to stay in. He's got the same issue as Megan, Scott's wife. I'm glad everything is working out for your son. I was laughing about the "mustard" comment. I had to ask my husband what it was. lol

Hello!! My son went to Ship 17 right after graduation for a tiny kidney stone. They started processing him out. He sent off a medical waiver and has talked to LEGAL so far... He's fighting it with everything he has. I guess it's up to BU MED now. My son was told that it's Navy guidlines that if they are in less than 6 months they have to follow one set of guidelines. Lets cross our fingers for Megan and my son Donnie.

Scott - I am glad to hear that you and Megan are fighting this thing. It sounds like you have a lot of support, so that is good. Will be praying for a successful resolution!!
