OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

On Base Housing
Looking for some advice from lovely ladies who have been through the housing process before... My husband and I are moving to our first duty station at the end of May. We submitted our housing application already and we are aware that the waitlist for this particular housing is about 2-4 months and they do not offer temporary housing. My husband will be there in April, then somewhere different during May, then we are taking a road trip (woohoo) to our duty station. We won't know if we got the on base housing until early May, so he'll be gone by then. SO, should we put down a deposit and get a lease on an apartment while he's there or should we wait to see if we get the on base housing in the weeks before we actually move? My biggest fear is being left with nowhere to stay, or signing a lease then hearing that we do have the on base housing shortly after, then being stuck with the lease and losing our spot on base!

You have a few options. The Navy will house you for a short time in a hotel. Ten days, not much, but it may help. You can stay at one of the extended stay hotels which rents suites by the month or week. If you do sign a lease, sign one which lets you break it when housing becomes available. That may not be ideal, as you could lose your security deposit and last month's rent. Many landlords understand about short term leasing while waiting for housing. Just don't sign anything which does not fit your needs.

This seems like a dumb question but this is my first time doing all of this.. When you say " The Navy will house you for a short time in a hotel," does that mean that the Navy pays for it or do we pay for it? Side note: We didn't get married until after he got his orders so we're having a hard time with his current command letting me actually be on his orders and the military paying for our move.

you situation is a little different because you are not on his order yet.
if you were on his orders they would provide an allowance for the first 10 days for both of you, after that he should receive BAH (housing allowance) -

The housing I currently live in said there was going to be a 2-4 month waiting list, but 3 days after I submitted the application a place became available.
