I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp This website was sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes to military relationships. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to when he was in bootcamp because we are now living together out here in California and Im a Nursing Major and I work full time (whew!) but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions for me make a discussion topic and i will see it and respond. Take Care ♥

Congrats Giget!

Ladies, I havn't posted in awhile. I just started school and my sailor just graduated bootcamp. I've been really busy. Anyway, I couldn't go to his graduation because I had to move in that same weekend, just my luck. I havn't seen him since he left- July 26. We've tried to see eachother it just seems that everything is against us. He was going to try and come this weekend but he can't. This is only about the 4th time we've tried planning. I'm really becoming shattered and hopeless. I miss him so much. I just need a hug from him. I know he loves me but it's still hard. I had the worst breakdown today and it sucked even more because my roommate came in and seen me. I told my aunt and she doesn't seem to understand what i'm going through. I don't have many friends here yet and I know they don't, my friends back home don't, my family aren't really trying to...I feel so alone, really I do. I don't really know what i'm looking for by posting but I just need to get this off of my chest.

Adam's Girl: I know how you feel....Jason and I were planning our wedding before he joined the Navy. After he joined, he tells me he wants to wait until after A school before we get married. I know it's frustrating and it hurts, but the bottom line is your guy is only looking out for your future. Jason wanted to make sure we were both ready for this lifestyle before getting married. It was probably the smartest decision he made for our relationship. It sucks being "just a fiance" in the Navy but I'm glad we got our feet wet first. You CAN make it through the next few years! My best advice is to get closer to your family than ever and make friends. I have no idea where I would be right now without my closest friends.

Just want to share my happiness for a moment.....I'm getting married this Saturday!!!! :D

Welcome Kayana! :) (PS, you have a gorgeous name!!)

Adam's girl--that makes a lot of sense, he's got a pretty good head on his shoulders :) While its not always what we want, sometimes waiting can be a really healthy thing to try out.

I don't know if anyone here does this, but Gage and I approach "how long to wait and why" as a regular conversation. Its kind of a stress reliever for me and it's nice to know we're still on the same page, and reminds me why exactly I have to wait forever and a day. =] Sometimes it gets really frustrating, but just talking through it every now and then works really well for the two of us.

thanks everyone. from what we have talked about, the reason for waiting is mainly stability issues, and he wants to see how the first deployment goes.
Kayana- welcome. if you need anything just feel free to message me.

Hi,
I'm new to this site and my boyfriend of about 8 months just left for bootcamp (September 30th). I just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully build up some friendships. I know this is going to be a tough time for me and I want to be able to talk to people who have been or are currently in this situation. Anyways, my name is Kayana. I look forward to meeting all of you. :)

An E-3 or below can get BAH. However, they cannot be stationed overseas with dependents. The Navy suggests waiting to see what your orders are if you are in A school. That's also why they make it tough to get married with permission, that status can change orders and the Navy does need a certain amount of junior sailors overseas. Another bit of advice commonly given to the young men is to wait until after the first long deployment and see how that goes. A good percentage of marriages don't make it, the reality gets overwhelming for some couples. Not saying anyone here specifically, just that we all know it is a hard road.

A married E-3 can get orders overseas, but they can't take their spouse. Sometimes the orders get switched, but the detailers really, really get annoyed if they must re-assign.
