Erin Marie-Congrats!! PIR was a year ago for us but I still remember all the emotions and relief like it was yesterday!

Katie-I would buy the tickets ASAP! Like Anti M said, the prices get more and more expensive the closer you get to the date that he's leaving, and that'd be terrible if they happened to sell out and he couldn't make it home :( Good luck! :)

Hello ladies. I spent this weekend in Great Lakes! Well, Thursday night through Saturday morning. And while I am SO HAPPY to be back home in Florida (IL is so disgustingly cold, and I'm sick!), it was soo amazing to experience PIR! And even though my fiance Gage was a grad & go, he didnt have to leave until this morning, so we met him up at the airport that we were coincidentally leaving from in a few hours. He beat us home and everything.
I can't describe it, but I figure most of you either know or will know what it feels like to finally squeeze the living daylights out of your man. something like happyexcitedconfusedsurprisedoverwhelmingproudthrilledbreathtakingamazing.
I slammed into a bunch of people running around finding him when they called liberty! Proud bruises :)

Hi all - so I was wondering if anyone is in the situation where they are flying to their Sailor or their Sailor is flying home for the holidays? Well, more like anyone who has done this is in past. The flights around Thanksgiving are OUTRAGEOUS and we dont know wether we should buy asap for the best price or if the prices will drop the closer we go to Thanksgiving?? We are only affraid that if we wait all of the flights will be booked and he wont get home at all. We'd rather spend the money than not see eachother, but we would really like to wait and see if the prices go down a little. Anyone have ANY advice on this??

BAH can take a long time to kick in, sometimes a couple months. He just has to stay on top of his PSD office about his pay.

Hey ladies! I haven't been on in a while. I moved to VA Beach last month and we just got internet. I was wondering if anyone had trouble with getting their BAH. My hubby applied for it in August and we still haven't received it which has been tough on the money situation right now? Anyone have any advice about what to do...or if anything can be done to find out what's going on

As for AO, looks like it depends on just what he'll be doing, but looks like school is six weeks or so. Doesn't include hold times, as usual

So crazy...I actually bought that picture of the sailor kissing that girl in Times Square like 3 years ago, before my husband was even thinking of joining the military!! I guess I have always loved Sailors!!!
