Navy For Moms

my son just graduated boot camp yesterday, next stop, Grotten. I would like to get in touch with and get to know other moms who's sons are going there too. We are ship 10 division 372 Cardinal Unit at this time, guess all that changes after the move. This is my first military experience

Congratulations on your son's PIR Graduation! Welcome to Groton! My son has been there since June and currently is "on hold" before starting "A" school. Just post any questions you have about life at Groton and anyone who is available will try and answer them. ~Chris

Delete That is great, how is he doing now? It has been a couple of weeks since the post. My son graduates this Friday the 13th and will fly out to Groton on Saturday following graduation. I am with you there, this is my first military experience as well. My extended family - - the older family members and distant cousins - - have been in the services. But this is the first time that I have been directly involved. My youngest is working on getting into the military too, this next summer. Hopefully, I will have a greater knowledge of what to expect when he goes in. LOL. I am so grateful for this website, it has helped so much. Nice to know we are not going it alone, hu?

Hi Holly, sorry I don't get to get on here much, I work too much. I just found out that my son is actually in grotton today. We have not heard from him yet. His girlfriend lives with me and he sent her a message on facebook today saying that he was there and doing ok. I was getting antsy about not hearing anything, so I checked the activity on his bank account today. I found that there was a transaction at the nex in grotton is how I found out. A word about graduation, there is only one line of traffric in, so get there early. I wish someone would have told me that. We didn't have to walk far, but was outside for a great deal of time, so check the weather.
OK, got to go.
