My son is on the USS LaJolla sub, Nuke, natch, Class 2 EM5. Hear from very few with son's (daughters, B/F's, husbands, etc.) on the LaJolla. His nickname is Radar. To me, it is Michael. Any more out there? I know of Heather. Uno.

Roxanne,
It's so great to finally hear about someone who's sailor is on the same ship as my son's! Welcome to the page. Our Martin graduated from bootcamp June 26th, but didn't report to Hawaii until December. He is undesignated so far, but plans to be a Boatswain's Mate too! (Proud Dad was one in the 70's) He has really enjoyed their latest mini-cruise since the dry-dock re-fit...said he was able to accomplish a lot toward that goal during this last week. I'm confident that our sons know each other, because he is bunked together with the Boatswain Mate group (at least that's where they put him initially) Does your son enjoy being stationed in Hawaii? If you ask him if he knows the guy who got a Christmas Tree from home in January, (It was very small, and very late getting there)...that would be my sailor!

Martin is glad I'm on N4M, but finds it unusual that Moms like doing this....he just grins and shakes his head when I talk about it (when he's been home).

Hope we get to chat again.
